Re: RAN Triangulation Station

Yep - certainly accessible and close by a geocaching.com cache. I'll get the details on here when I get the chance.

I thought this was appropriate for a Trig creation but just wanted confirmation.

Cheers!

RAN Triangulation Station

Hi all, While up in Far North Qld I came across a Triangulation Station with the following details: Hydrographic Branch - Triangulation Station - 1978 - FL 11 FF - R.A.N. This being of the same size as the round survey markers we normally see. Found along the coastline. Have a couple of photos of it...

Re: Cachers who refuses to sign the log book

Well, in my opinion they have failed on 2 aspects - not signing the log in the first place as required by the rules, and second, the way they have replied back to you. I would see no problem in deleting their log. You could choose in emailing them first to say that you are going to delete their log ...

Re: Garmin Montana

Yes - I think Birdseye is worth it as well Noikmeister. Haven't had the need to use it for a long period of time but would have thought so as well considering what it use to do to my Dakota battery life. Congratulations on you and your caching group FTF in Namadgi - it made an interesting read. Chee...

Re: Blue Mountains Power Trail (BMPT) -- A Challenge

Are these the caches with View3 in their geocache name? If so they look like an interesting challenge.

Cheers!

Re: Montana 650t for $650

The camera is not too bad either in the 650t. Not good in dark conditions, no flash - but if it means I don't have to carry another piece of electronic equipment on a day hike it is well worth it.

Re: Brisbane airport caches

It looks doable as I have been through Brissy airport a number of times. My only suggestion would be to have a spare shirt and deodorant waiting for you when you get back to the terminal at this time of the year... Sitting next to a "smelly person" in a plane is not really that nice! :D 8)

Re: Australian Power Trails

I recently did the one on the Gold Coast and although it being a power trail I did it by foot from the start to the 2nd last one (did the last one two days later) - running out of time. Long walk back to the car though as not all caches are exactly 160m apart. I enjoyed the walk in the morning with ...

Re: Garmin Montana

Thanks for the update. As my Dakota 20 is now on the blink (can no longer be calibrated) and Garmin is only offering to make me pay $307 for a serviced unit with 90 days warranty only (you can buy a brand new Dakota 20 for about $335 from the USA) I'll probably put an order in for a Montana this wee...

Re: Left Handed Geocachers

Here is an interesting test which helps determine whether you are left handed or not:

Re: Left Handed Geocachers

I came from a school system from the past where they tried to make left handed people right handed but due to my stubborness and nature's demands I always ended up going back to being left handed. I could class myself as ambidextrous in many ways but I have voted left handed because that is how natu...

My preference would certainly be to attend the NZ Mega than the Aussie one.

Cheers!
