Confusion - Why should I use GCA instead of GC.com?

Hi there everyone, This is not a troll post but a genuine question regarding these two sites. For all my logging of found caches and searching/downloading of new caches, including pocket queries I have always used GC.com but I have wondered whether there are reasons why I should be using GCA instead...

Re: Garmin compass calibration

Just before Xmas I downloaded and updated my Garmin Dakota 20 with the latest patch and this bascically killed my Dakota. Couldn't even get it past the Garmin screen when you first turn it on. Tried many things but no luck. Garmin asked me to send it to their Service Centre and I received it 1 week ...

Re: 'Theft' of trackables - it's getting ridiculous.

I am only putting the cheaper trackables out into the big bad world these days. I bought a few nice geocoins and I cannot bare the thought of some other person claiming them as their own. If I do I might put a mission on them to only go to caches with a combined terrain and difficulty of 6+ or so. M...

Re: what time do you going caching

FTP - First to Poll :D

Being in Canberra with lots of caches throughout the city I am easily able to get out at lunch time and find a cache or two. But, I am starting to run out of the caches close by so use of vehicle is starting to play a role now...

Cheers!

Even when you are heavily suffering hayfever and hayfever-induced asthma you still have the urge to duck out and just do 1 cache for the day.

Re: Visiting Sydney, Snowies, Canberra Nov 15-23

Sorry Winglen, My original post just pointed out that there was two meets happening on the same evening and I asked whether it was worth looking into it. My initial email was no way intended to hijack any occasion, merely pointing out that some cachers may be conflicted in choosing between the two. ...

Re: 'Theft' of trackables - it's getting ridiculous.

Well, I just got confirmation that a CacheKinz I released up at Goulburn (GWM 1914-18) 10 days ago has gone missing - the only thing left was it's laminated mission card. A Stirling silver fish was attached to the Cachekinz and this cache had two geocoins registered to it which were also not there. ...

Re: Visiting Sydney, Snowies, Canberra Nov 15-23

Just noticed there is another Canberra geochachers get together happening on the same evening as a farewell to RexTrex http://forum.geocaching.com.au/viewtopi ... =13396).

Is there a chance this could be combined for greater numbers? Just a thought.

Cheers,
Rob.

Hi there,

I will try it make it on the 18th barring family responsibilities. I'll watch this space for further developments. Might have a few coins or TBs to hand over to you if you are happy.

Cheers,
Rob.

Re: ...Ummm...

I got my Dakota 20 for A$408.00 (including P&H costs) from a business in Western Australia. Posted to Canberra and arrived within 3 days. Will look up details for you tomorrow.

I am very happy with the Dakota 20 but, then again, this is my first handheld GPS :D

Cheers!
