Re: Trig points - a general discussion
The CORS site mentions two? on Stromlo in the ACT, I remember one from the picture (Weird looking thing, pointy thing sticking out of a cylinder) but there's no picture for the other.

Re: Caching vest
For sheer carrying capacity check out the Rufus roo jacket, never mind a ten inch netbook this sucker will carry a full size one and nearly everything else. Unfortunately the only fashion statement it is making is towards the airlines luggage policy ripoffs. ..|. http://www.etravelblackboard.com/art...

'Leapfrog' would seem to be appropriate, or maybe Cuisses de grenouille (frogs legs)

Re: Garmin Asus A50 pre paid
Just found the catalog again, the A50's are on sale until the 29th of November unless sold out first of course and it shows the wrong version of android operating system at 2.1 on the stupid catalog, the unit actually has android 1.6. Protective holders to save the screen from keys etc in your pocke...

Re: Garmin Asus A50 pre paid
OK, I bit the bullet and made the jump from my poor old busted up mono screen Nokia. Looks like a steep learning kerb into the new one and the included 'instruction booklet' is a once over lightly with no depth into the functions at all. Looks like I've got some internet research to do, starting wit...

Garmin Asus A50 pre paid
FYI, if your interested, I have it on very good authority (delivering the pamphlets at the moment) that these will be on sale at Dick Smith's from the 10th at $199 each. These are the Garmin Asus phones with the inbuilt navigator that runs Android 2.1. Are these any good for caching?. I'm thinking o...

Re: Little Glad bags
Try the hardware, stationary and craft sections of the two dollar shops, there's Homebase over at Woden near you and a couple out at Tuggeranong. I've found largish bags full of little sealable bags for a few dollars. They all tend to tear eventually but some gaffa tape tabs on the opening edges abo...

Re: Happy Wattle Day!
I've never noticed that before, There's gotta be a way to work that into a cache name, though it's probably already been done. Probably along the lines of 'Wattle a Cacher do' maybe, I know what to do with my next one now...thewhitedoggang wrote:Golden Wattle (Acacia pycnantha) pronounced "A cacher"

Re: Snakes... and geocaching!
All snakes in Australia have right of way in the bush and are considered dangerous. Red back and Funnelweb spiders are just as bad. Coming up to this time of year even the magpies get dangerous around Canberra at least. Drop bears and bunyips while excedingly rare are worse than any of the above. :s...
