To get this thread back on track...
1. Finish P366 (got 60 something days to go).
2. Get to 1500 GC finds.
3. Do more GCA caches.
4. Find less nano's and eclipse tins.
5. Find more epic multi's and night caches.
6. Hide more epic multi's and start making night caches.

Re: A event for Introverts!
If you hold an event for introverts I'll log a 'Will attend' but won't turn up. I reckon GazaC will do the same. It'll be a roaring success if everyone does that!

Re: Geocaching Business Card
...I spent today on a mission to stock as many caches with kid friendly stuff, so disappointing for kids to find crap. I take a few swaps with me every week on my caching trips around the Melbourne suburbs with the idea of dropping them into caches to keep kids interested. But it's so hard to find ...

Re: Those Badges and those Darned logs!
Shows a lack of respect IMO. The logs are all about "them". They take and don't give back...LouiseAnn wrote:I had one of the long logs on one of my caches that has had very good feed back from most finds and I was ver annoyed to see that they only bothered to an two words that were specifically about my cache.

Re: Geocaching Business Card
Recently we came across a cache that had a "What is Geocaching" type business card inside. We think it would be useful to have a few to help explain our obsession to muggles. Can't remember the actual wording on the card though. Anyone know of them? And where can we get hold of some? I've been want...

Re: Those Badges and those Darned logs!
I reckon I know who the OP is talking about, and that crew's logs bug me too. Even more now if it's true that the reason for them is to earn a badge...I feel like I'm being played. On a personal note, the length of my logs usually corresponds to the quality of the cache. If the CO has put some effor...

Re: Munzees!
Some good points raised here. Yeah, Munzee is about the numbers, I forgot that. But with every mint tin cache I find, a little piece of the geocacher inside me dies too. I can't help thinking that caching is racing to the bottom as well. Trouble is, I'm a numbers hound (as much as I hate to admit it...

Re: Munzees!
Munzee's are celebrating their first year but I'm starting to think it was a fad that took off fast but fizzled out just as quickly. Why? Well most of the Munzee's in my area (SE suburbs Melb, Vic) have on average, only been found 5-6 times in the past year. Whereas most Geocache's have been found t...

Re: Cache contents
I'm glad you like the idea! Go for it. There's only one condition I set - when you have your kids pack assembled you must post a photo of it here for us, okay? So following up on the above, which I posted several weeks ago.. I have put my 'girly' swap idea into action. Pics as promised. I started w...

Re: 900 Lumen torch - any good?
Like quiet1_au said, I really doubt it puts out anything like 900 lumens. 500 seems credible, if a little high. I have a Fenix LD10 that cost $50, takes 1x AA @ 1.2v and it pumps out 100 lumens. So the 3.7v is equivalent to 3x AA batteries. I don't know much about electronics (correct me if I'm wron...

Re: Open Street Map Australia
From memory, here's the process I used to get OSM onto my Oregon 300: Go to http://www.osmaustralia.org/garmin.php and download the state maps you want. Get a copy of IMG2GPS from http://www.softpedia.com/get/Office-tools/Other-Office-Tools/IMG2GPS.shtml Install and run IMG2GPS. Select the folder co...

Re: Open Street Map Australia
I've been using OSM on my Oregon 300 for six months and it's probably the best move I ever made, what you get for the price is awesome. When I lived in Bendigo (central Victoria) it had all the highways/minor roads/forest tracks that I needed. Now I'm in Melbourne it's got everything I need here too...

Welcome Bill! Geocaching will most certainly broaden your travel experiences. In fact you'll quite likely get so hooked all you'll want to do is travel from one to the other and only go home when you REALLY have to. That's my idea of bliss..!

Re: Half-price Sistemas!
Pfft, I don't know how you people can sleep at night after supporting the petrochemical industry by buying all those sistema's that you're going to litter the pristine countryside with. Me, I'm going to wait for my local pharmacy to collect film cans which I'll reuse and recycle into awesome caches ...
