Re: GSAK Access for Mac
I can confirm that Parallels does indeed do a very good job of running GSAK.

Re: Garmin Oregon 650
I can also attest to the poor quality of the provided batteries. After probably six months of semi-regular use it got to the point that I'd take a couple of photos and all of a sudden the charge would drop from full to near empty. Replaced with eneloops and now get excellent performance, and they ch...

Re: A sim for Italy
On a recent trip to Canada I was recommended to get TravelSim. I looked into it and it seemed very good. You purchase the TravelSim card and place it in your own phone. I decided in the end not to take a phone as I was on an organised tour so I don't have any first hand knowledge of its use. It app...

Re: The longest GCA power trail in Australia (idea)
I'll try and squeeze another cache into Curramulka when I get home in a couple of weeks. If I have time I might also go for a drive down to Coobowie and place what I think will be the first cache in Coobowie that can be completed at high tide... :D Well, I'm afraid I have beat you to it... I was in...

Re: CITO event in Mitcham (SA) Council Area
Hi everyone, I have just found out that I got an A- for my research project. So, I just wanted to reiterate my thanks to everyone who helped out last year with the interviews and the cleanup (and the people who answered my questions on this forum) for helping to make my project work. Cheers, Peter -...

Re: ipod geocach apps question
Hi all, I have a Dual XGPS300, which is a gps cradle that fits onto an ipod touch, it is just as accurate as a garmin etrex H, and probably more accurate than an iphone. It costs ~ $245 new and enables you to store an unlimited number of geocaches (means I don't have to use GSAK) with a program such...

Re: CITO event in Mitcham (SA) Council Area
Why involve the council? Wouldn't GS's disclaimer be enough to let participants be aware of all the dangers involved in the event? The main reason I was involving the council was to find out if they could suggest a suitable site, however, I think there were a few miscommunications along the way...

Re: CITO event in Mitcham (SA) Council Area
Thanks everyone. I was just wondering (a) has anyone contacted a local council about holding a CITO event and if so (b) what has happened with the issue of insurance? I am currently going through the motions with the Mitcham Council, who have sent me an 11 page event form and most of my answers to t...

Re: CITO event in Mitcham (SA) Council Area
Good idea, if I don't get a better suggestion from the council, that would do it... plenty of rubbish there.
