Five Surgeons

Five surgeons are discussing who makes the best patients on the operating table. The first surgeon says, "I like to see accountants on my operating table, because when you open them up, everything inside is numbered." The second responds, "Yeah, but you should try electricians! Everything inside the...

I have a couple of episodes to recount. One was Derringers "Sands of Time" where we braved a metre or so swell for 70km in an open boat. Got pretty wet by the end of that. Another time was a caching trip up towards Bendigo where a flash flood occurred and cut off roads etc due to a very heavy downpo...

Just go for it I say. My wife has a laptop which I haven't been allowed to touch. Not even clance in it's general direction in case I pinched it for caching  . I was debating the possibilties of keyboards for the PDA so I could do some logs on the run when she said "why don't you use the lapto...

I have been looking at Garmin's for a while because having cached with others with them they seem much better than my current Magellan. There's a new version coming out soon in most of the models which has a H prefix. Apparently a much more powerfull reciever etc. Reputedly better than the Sirf 3 cu...

Caches for travelers

I reckon we could do with more caches along major highways simply to break up trips. I've got a few up the Hume and I know they are pretty uninteresting in the main but they make you stop at least once. Just drove down from Sydney recently and there are not a lot along the highway in NSW. Could do w...

Australias oldest virgins-----Another one down

This looks like a thread where I should throw in a comment although there is another one running. A muggle friend and I picked up what I believe is the oldest unfound cache in all states except WA last weekend. It involved a walk of over 27km and elevation changes of around 300 metres several times ...

Hi Dak
As per all the others I wish you all the best. My prayers are with you too. You have been a great help to me a few times, and I have had a great time chasing your caches. Through all that I reckon I know you, and know you are the best. Get well soon.

Regards Howard.

Thanks where thanks is due

Many people are and have contributed greatly to this game, and to me personally and I would like to publicly thank a few, and invite others to follow suit. Maccamob. Thanks for lots of great caches and for helping me learn how to drive Gsak and other software. Dak's Emu Mob for the same. Magnificant...

Too hard basket!!! Yes I certainly have one. I have not got too involved in any of the puzzle caches around yet, probably due to the fact that there are plenty of easier ones to get first. I've really enjoyed Daks BT series which I have been picking away at for months. This is not a difficult series...

Hi Derringer We operate the same way. Four wheel drive with a small camper trailer and off to the outback any chance we can get. We just came back from the Flinders Ranges Broken Hill and Cobar. Previous trips weve been to Innamincha, Birsdville Boulia Alice Springs and all points between. My wife a...

Thanks for all your comments. It's very interesting. I used to have a job that involved a bit of travelling but now I sit in an office all day. What a pity caching wasn't thought of when I had that previous job.
What an even bigger pity I wasn't the one who invented this game.

I think this idea is fantastic. Will someone be posting a team list so we can barrick for our team? (How the heck do you spell barrick? Don't want to start using the American word! I'll get a smack!)
