Re: How many people still visit the forums
I'm here most days, checking in, seeing if there's anything I can contribute to or such.... More often than not there isn't, sadly, but always happy to contribute to or start a discussion on a particular topic. Forums are funny in the FB era. Some seem to be dying, but some others are still barrelli...

Re: Discovering Lost TBs
I actually see this quite a bit - and it's often not the TB owner's fault. People take photos (which is lovely) but then the tag appears. (I've even seen unwitting newbies post the code in the log!) Seems that some armchair numbers-whores are aware of this and must troll TB listings for code images....

Re: Discovering Lost TBs
I think the answer is that the tracking code is quite readable on the photo in your TB's listing. I managed to figure it out first time. I assume some people are visiting that graveyard virtual cache and using images to log some armchair TBs (I'm more baffled as to why anybody would bother with the ...

So where/how do you draw the line re safety?
As Melbourne cachers will no doubt be aware, there was a rather awful stabbing attack on a young lady this week which resulted in her death. Truly awful stuff (but they've at least caught him). We've been quite heavily impacted emotionally and mentally by it as it took place awfully close to home, i...

Re: Some thoughts on GCA...
There's some really good thoughts here and I concur with most of it. When I think about my GC.com usage I tend to dive straight into the maps page near my home - In fact, that's what my bookmark for GC.com pulls up. I don't waste my time at the home page at all.... So I'd agree that a quick frontpag...

Re: The TB that lived
Don't underestimate a Sistema though.... It's hard to believe, but here's one that we discovered (and re-discovered) that survived the hellish heat of Black Saturday right in the middle of Marysville http://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LUID=93d3e39d-9938-4592-9385-46f419077fdf Couldn't believe i...

Geocaching in the news...
..and it's a big one this time, not the ordinary old local paper gig. http://www.theage.com.au/digital-life/digital-life-news/gps-units-take-hidenseek-into-hightech-age-around-the-world-20141105-11dkjg.html Lots of good local references. Wow, the angst...

Gotta love this:

You can now use 'Geocache' in scrabble...
According to the official dictionary apparently...
Kind of impressed that it got up against all the, more mainstream, competition.

Re: Cache finds 'feed' possible?
http://geocaching.com.au/cacher/Happy%20Chappies.rss Something like that? That feed will show all finds as they appear on GCA, therefore there is some delay between the GC find and the feed being updated for GC caches. There's no facility at GC to do the same if I recall. That's absolutely perfect!...

Cache finds 'feed' possible?
Afternoon all..... Not sure whether this fits as a GC or GCA issue, so I'll raise it here. :D Is there a way of getting your cache finds/DNFs/notes as a feed. Like a newsfeed or RSS/Atom feed or some such? The reason I ask is I was thinking it'd be nice to have my cache finds/dnfs appear on my blog ...

Re: Munzees!
Interesting archive log I just came across on http://coord.info/GC1E4FP This cache is gone. I could replace it, but since there's already a munzee there, and munzee is a superior game for an urban setting like this, I'll let it go. RIP Harrison Ford! Can't say I agree... I must admit the mad prolife...

Re: Contacting CO's
A bit like jusojara - If I was at home and paying attention when the email came in then, sure, I'd respond as soon as I could. But most likely there'd be a significant time-delay before I could get back to the cacher, and after about 10-15 minutes I'd assumed they would have moved on. Knowing how so...
