Re: My first Cache hidden

Ta. Just FYI I do a lot of volunteer Landcare work and we are using the Cache as an incentive to entice people to particular spots of interest that we want people to be aware of and take an interest in, and hopefully look after. This spot has an endangered native plant so in the cache I have put inf...

I see it was still in draft.

I have fixed up the spelling mistakes and tried to log it, but perhaps you better check it again.

My first Cache hidden

Hi all.
I have logged my first cache that I have hidden a few days ago but it is not showing up when I do a search.
The co ords are S 36 07.658 E 146 48.094
On the edge of Wodonga Vic 3690.

I must have missed some step?

Cache log has dissappeared?

Yesterday I logged on and checked the map for a cache near me as my first one to find. I wrote down the coordinates and this morning I found it. =D> Now, when I want to locate it on the map again, so I can make a comment, it is gone from the map? I tried the coordinates in the search functio...

Re: How many metres is a mintute and second in Log and Lat

Thanks everyone. I have a Garmin eTrex 10 and the manual is very brief. :( I tried to enter the coordinates but could not figure out how to. Got to the correct screen but didn't seem to allow me to put in coords. I will have to down load a more extensive "manual", assuming one exists. I want that ma...

How many metres is a mintute and second in Log and Lat

As a newbie I am sure this is the proverbial "dumb question". I went out to find my first cache but I wasn't really sure how close I was to it. Need a quick lesson in reading long/lats on my garmin gps and how far away I am from the cache. One google answer says that a Lat second is about 31 meters ...

Re: Map cache ID codes ZTB

Thanks CaW. Yeah, not "intuitive". Now I just need to find out when I would use these: H Burke and Wills? (only "Dig Tree" comes to mind. Do I bury the cache?) L Locationless? (no idea) N Night Cache (good to go to at night e.g. top of a hill to see the stars?) R Earthcache? (some environment thing?...

Map cache ID codes ZTB

Hi all. Brand new to this.
On the geocache map around my vicinity they have different Letters in the teardrop pointer..Z, T, B.
What do these mean?
Is there a list of these codes on the forum?
