Re: Cachers who refuses to sign the log book

Perhaps I should have worded it

"Aren't there more important things to worry about?"

No offence to any posters was intended.

Re: Cachers who refuses to sign the log book

So there'd be no problem if it wasn't mentioned in the log? Do you have more important things to worry about? I had two logs in two days at the same cache saying they didn't sign it, I deleted the email and went onto something more important. How does anyone know that anyone has ever found a cache? ...

GSAK - which files are needed.

The video card on my laptop has died  , but the hard drive is still functioning :) . I've bought a new laptop and will be transferring all files from the old hard drive to the new laptop for later use. I've downloaded a new copy of GSAk onto my new laptop. Mty question is, given I don't have a...

Re: Cache difficulty/terrain ratings

Just as a matter of interest we recently did part of the Anne Beadall Highway and this trig point TP0066 is along the track. It is rated 2 terrain. This is desert country, the terrain should be at least 4 probably more. We had a car, in our group, break down out there and it needed to be recovered. ...

Re: Cache difficulty/terrain ratings

So what would people think of this one? http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?wp=GC1AJF9 We've just been there and of the 3 cars that went out there only two made it back to Coober Pedy. If this was attempted in the middle of summer and the car broke down, chances are no-one would be com...

I just checked and the file is 8.37mb.

Don't know if that matters, but it did update all my finds.

Error while importing a file

I got this message today while importing a file.

Unknown log type, set to Noted: GCHWRW 'Write Note'. Please advise a site administrator.

My find was loaded but it killed the rest of the import.

Re: The discrepancy between the log entries and the finds online

And you need to allow for the increasing number of people who forget a pen and post a photo of the cache online.

(Most people dont mention the pencil is missing because they have a pen)

Re: One find every 56 seconds....

Another alternative for the DoT would be to blow up each suspicious object, and charge the owner the cost.

If they were placed in an illegal location (10 metres of side of road) then why were they published?

Re: How many hides is too many?

I've been caching for 5 years and if someone hasn't placed a cache in the spot in that time, then it's fair go.

I have been thinking about this issue but whenever I talk to "numbers" people they tell me to just hide them.
