Re: GCA Official Geocache Sticker - Comments

The other alternative for marking the caches is to use a decent labeller that prints onto clear tape and stick that over the top of hte plastic sticker.

Cleaner and easier to read, but I'm not sure of the longevity of the clear tape.

Re: GSAK And Pocket Queries - How?

I feel like such a doofus for not thinking of that, that's brilliant!

Now to figure out how to single out the ones I haven't found yet :-k

GSAK And Pocket Queries - How?

So I've started delving into using pocket queries to download cache data into GSAK and Geosphere but I have one silly question. How? I understand the concept of using pocket queries to find caches within a certain range of point X, however I'd like to be able to see every cache in Brisbane if need b...

Re: GCA Website Smartphone version - User input required

To be honest, I haven't given that a try yet. Was hoping not to have to delve into GSAK.

I'll give it a whirl tonight though, for curiosity's sake.

Re: Fancy A5 Stash notes

Hi folks, Just whipped these up for personal use, seeing as there's no A5 template for stash notes and I figured someone else might get some use out of 'em too :D There's two separate versions, one with geocaching.com on it, and another with geocaching.com.au, links are below. Geocaching.com - Down...

Re: GCA Website Smartphone version - User input required

OT regarding the original topic, but for geosphere: Even if you run the GCA gpx file through the converter that CraigRat has provided, Geosphere does not find the Description, the last five logs or the hint. Though it may be that I'm downloading the wrong GPX file? I'm grabbing the QLD one straight ...

Re: Newbie to Geocaching with iPhone

If you're using Geosphere and have a wifi network at home you can just temporarily turn off the 3gs while downloading the GPX files (An average zipped geocaching.com GPX seems to be ~1mb or less). In the near future the developer of geosphere will be adding support for the offmaps application which ...

Re: Downloading GPX of GC caches recommended on GCA

You'll need to go through something like GSAK to get the oregon to read our GPX files. The Garmin devices are set up to only read Groundspeak's GPX file format. I have created a java based file converter that might work: http://cachegurus.com/files/GCAConvert-0-01a.zip Dump the converted GPX file i...

Re: 2010 news years caching resolutions.

I'd really like to do some more hikes / rides to regain fitness. Other than that, wipe off a certain mexican off my list, and find a nice place to put my ammo tin. Continue to enjoy caching my own way :D. Strangely enough, this is pretty much my exact caching resolution. I guess we should stop tryi...

Re: 'Theft' of trackables - it's getting ridiculous.

I haven't cached proper in a few months, but it seems it's gotten considerably worse up here in Queensland too. captainflux and I were intending to make a trip up to a TB hotel an hour or so away from us but were only able to locate one of the 10 or so TB's in our area that would be suitable to trav...

OT somewhat, but is involving Base64 images too much of a pain in the backside for puzzle caches?
