Re: Geocaching story on 7.30 last night
I blame computer speak for my pronunciation too - it's always been kaysh for me and I'm sticking with it. I have long suspected "computer speak" as the reason for the use of the incorrect pronunciation in Australia. However, the on-line references I've found say that "cash" is still the correct pro...

Re: Geocaching story on 7.30 last night
Arrrgh the pronunciation!!! Which one? Kash (correct) or caysh (wrong). http://dictionary.cambridge.org/pronunciation/british/cache <Flame retardant suit on now!> No need for a flame retardant suit as far as I'm concerned! Although I didn't think the program explained geocaching very well, it was a...

New version of "your computer has errors" scam?
I've known for years to hang up on callers who claim to be from "Windows" and say "Your computer has been reporting errors" or suchlike. However I just had a possibly new version of this scam. They first "proved they were OK" by giving me my (correct) name and address and then said the usual line ab...

Re: Entertaining Logs
Hmmmm works for me. Are you a premium member? That's the only thing I can think of as it is a Premium member only cache. Otherwise, try http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=055149d9-4ef2-4d83-9f14-83fc4864e5d4 and scroll to Bruce's Run 's DNF log. Both links work OK for me now, th...

http://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LUID=8f5bc3a3-903c-4b05-a486-61e5fce3807f I just tried that link and got a page saying "500 - Server Error". And on the right hand side, next to an image of "Signal" is the message "2 people are spying on you"! How did you set that up, Agent Basil? (B...

Re: Trackables poll
I used to be keen on finding trackables and would make quite long trips to find ones I'd not seen before.
I also have released 90, of which only about 15 are still "alive".
Now I only pick up and move them if I see they have been released by a newbie who wants to see them travel.

Re: Two million caches
On the other hand does anyone know the name off the first geocache? PS theUMP should delete the spam notes. This link might help: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?wp=GCGV0P And note that the first cache was called a "stash". If you remember that, you will pronounce "cache" correctl...

Re: Two million caches
I just noticed a cacher has posted a "Needs Archived" log on Overwatch. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LUID=879f5fa8-6b81-4a60-bd21-9cc55123fcee Not the kindest log to place! Though I agree with those who have compared the 1500+ notes to spam. Not to mention all the TBs/geocoins that have "...
