I decided that the redundancy of RAID 0 looked like an attractive solution. Hi orac7000 just a quick note that RAID 0 is actually "AID". Eg NO REDUNDANCY :!: :!: :!: Purely striped data across multiple drives. If one of the drives in the array fails you loose the whole array. In a loose theoretical...

Sorry but if you don't have Ozi already I doubt a 1:1,000,000 scale map for $2 will make it worth while :? .

Hi Guys, Along the same lines as the post above can the suburb for ADP http://geocaching.com.au/cache/gcj97r please be looked at. As the cache owner has had several people complain that the suburb listed is misleading. Could this please be looked at its listed at "Croydon Park" a suburb of Adelaide....

Yep NiMH around the 2000mAh and a decent charger are the way to go. Just a word of warning when you see AA's reaching up to 2400 or 2500mAh. Normally the extra capacity comes by making the battery physically bigger. Eg a half a smidge (a metric smidge of course  ) longer and a smidge wider. As...

Found caches in SA, WA, Vic, NSW, QLD, and Tassy for me.

Never been to NT ( ) and not to ACT since I began caching 4 years ago ( double  ).

Maybe its time to go visit some relatives there  .

I agree Mike. On several occasions whilst out caching including we've simply sat at or near GZ waiting for a quiet spot in the muggles before continuing. When we've seen other cachers walk up in broad daylight and blatantly search around and retrieve the cache oblivious to us sitting right there. Ju...

Re: Adults Only Cache.

I was pretty sure that i saw the words "Adults Only Cache". Wouldn't this mean that "Adults" would be the only ones to go and visit this cache? And if "Adults" only visited this cache, then the children wouldn't be there... Or am i missing something? And besides the 15 year old cacher that chooses ...

I've taken one of my old trusty eTrexes down to a little over 5m

But luckily its was in an Aquapac

Not sure if I was more worried about the water getting in to the pac or the 1.5 bar that it was under.

I think that their background work has already been done for any further increments in the scope of the gc id numbers. Eg GC114 = GC0114 = 13d3edd0-7770-4b51-82a7-832675c2d5da Some where I've seen the forumla to convert between the gc1234 format and the extened format. gc [0-9 a-z] [0-9 a-z] [0-9 a-...
