Re: Those Badges and those Darned logs!
I reckon I know who the OP is talking about, and that crew's logs bug me too. Even more now if it's true that the reason for them is to earn a badge...I feel like I'm being played. I reckon I know the crew in question too. A while back, I had a big day caching around Hastings and, unfortunately, on...

Re: Unfilled log books: Is it just me?
I remember finding this cache with a group of others..... were we suppose to write in just the one box, or one box per person? I don't think it really matters. I can work out when there are multiple logs in a box. It's just flipping past log position 123 and 124, to write in 125 that gives me the h...

Re: Cool New Macro for GSAK! Achievement Badges!
Yep the elevations took a while the first time... 1000 find took about 15 minutes  but after that it will run faster. It doesnt seem to pick up the "Head in the Ground" (Finds below sea level) for me though... There is a nifty setting on the Badge Generator that say "Run Another Marco Once B...

Re: Love and Hate
Yes it is. An attempt to get other cachers to change their habits so that it makes it better for some. Otherwise why say anything? If someone isn't aware of what other cachers really like and dislike about various aspects of caching, they may inadvertently do things that offend. This thread isn't a...

No one has ever questioned this - it's just not what this thread is about!caughtatwork wrote:But we're not talking road rules, we're talking geocaching. So there is every free right in the world to cache differently.

Re: Love and Hate
Pardon? I have said that we should embrace the differences between people and caches. Making everyone think and act the same way (road rules, etc) lead to no fun for anyone, even if those who deem themselves in-charge think it's for the betterment of the community. If driving down a freeway on the ...

Re: Love and Hate
I'll put aside the comments about destruction of someone else's property. I think there might be a law against that, but that's for a different thread. I think that picking up and disposing of geocaches would probably be considered a community service in many sections of the community  The for...

Re: Love and Hate
By the definition of GC, there is a container with a logbook. That's the standard. Caches meet that standard. Anything else is not standard it's icing. A plastic takeaway container with some post it notes meets the defined standard. You want standards applied to much, much more than the standards s...

Re: DNF on muggled caches
We have logged quite a few DNF's on caches that have been subsequently reported by the owner as being muggled. So my question is would you then go back and change the "DNF" log to a "Write a note" log? After all the cache wasn't actually there when we were searching so it isn't really a DNF. To me ...

Re: Maps for Europe, North America, China for Garmin Nuvi 310?
... We are driving an electric vehicle around the world (starting in less than a month), so maps would be handy! They'd be very handy indeed, I'd imagine    I was just being cheeky - but, seriously, I'd have thought that such an undertaking would require a huge amount of preplann...

Dont worry Bob, it wasnt that long ago i had a digit slip on my " Close encounters of the third kind '" in Narre Warren in Melbourne in August 2006..  More so, i placed a 4 instead of a 7 , and it got released during the day whilst at work.
