Re: Locationless own-log etiquette
My own opinion that when you hide a cache you shouldn't log a find against it because you know where it is. An exception is a moveable which can end up anywhere and as you no longer know where it is when you look for it, it's OK to log you own. Same for a locationless cache. You have found it in a ...

Locationless own-log etiquette
We're new to locationless caches.... We published a few lately, and today spotted an object that would serve as a log for one.
What is the consensus for logging your own locationless cache? OK/not OK? Is there an official line?

Re: My Query limits
....We want people to make a choice and not download everything as that would blow our bandwidth limit. Be respectful of the system, other users and our bandwidth and try to select only those caches you need. If you are trying to build a complete offline database we have other ways and means which ...

Re: Cache Owner Log Administration
<snip> and when all the admins stop doing it, we will have logs that need administration and there is no one to do it. Let's have a discussion where the community can self service their needs rather than seek someone else to do it for them. If the problem is that there may/will be logs that need ad...

Re: Cache Owner Log Administration
There’s two sides to every cache log dispute, and allowing a cache owner to delete someones log is pretty one sided. I imagine opencaching.com’s problems started with just a few cachers exerting their power over others, but it ended with factions of people using the review and cache listing system ...

Re: Cache Owner Log Administration
I like the two latest posts from C@W as I agree with that process. The CO should have away of notifying an administrator that there is a problem but this of course would be after the CO has messaged the owner of the log that has triggered the response and has received no reply or an unsatisfactory ...

Re: Cache Owner Log Administration
Should we make change to allow the owner to delete a log? Or change it to a note? Or encrypt it if it contains spoilers? Or remove photos if they contain inappropriate material (including spoilers). <snip> Let's have a sensible conversation and where you think of a good reason for taking an action,...

Re: How many is too many?
I an not yet planning on implementing an automatic process to change Found it to Noted in the event that there is no evidence attached. I hope that the cache owners will continue to manage that aspect, but if that also falls to the wayside more drastic measures may be taken. These changes look grea...

Re: Future Games
Okay... So let's assume there were no pathtag rewards for games. Would people still be interested in being part of a fun challenge game still? If yes, please respond to the below. ....snipped.... - something new like a geocaching twist on a board game like battleships? - another type of game/challe...

Re: How many is too many?
I'm glad to see the changes involving the jigsaws and other armchair 'locationless caches'.... I'm surprised at the limit being imposed on compliant locationless caches though. Maybe the limiting of the normal locationless caches will encourage higher quality listings? A bit like GC and their virtua...

Re: Main map - state breakdown
Awesome, thanks for that update.... Without sounding unappreciative.... is it possible to have the map then start off from your home location, but then show all caches irrespective of states (or even countries) as you scroll around? If you want a search centred on your home co-ordinates then you sh...

Norfolk is still affected - one of the caches there is listed as be...

Main map - state breakdown
My most common way of using the GA map, is to click NSW in the main map on the homepage.... works well - unless you are in a border area, and cross border caches don't show up unless you go back and select that map. Another issue I've just noted, and it is quite specific - is Norfolk Island - there ...
