Re: iPhone Apps for geocaching
Found this while browsing the www last night on the iPhone. http://iphonecaching.appspot.com/ It is a free web app designed for the iPhone. It has some sweet features such as loading the coordinates into Navigon and a few other programs for navigation to the cache. The other feature I particularly ...

This has definitely raised the anticipation levels...
Where will it be in Aus???
Will there be one in NZ (we sure hope so)???

Re: Garmin Nuvi 500 GPS
Hi Sapphire.... Started out with a Nuvi 500 - probably racked up my 1st 50 or so caches with it.. As Funkydan said main dissadvantage is it's not so easy to hold securely when scrambling around. Found/find it quite accurate enough to find caches fairly easily... Easy to load .gpx files either direct...

Re: Getting a Garmin Nuvi 500 outdoors
Daniel, I also stated out with Nuvi 500 and had same issues - couldn't come up with an easy fix that would allow quick swap between car & foot duty..... So just perservered while I saved the pennies and added an Oregon 300 to the caching kit...- problem then solved - except geodaughter now wants a D...

Re: In car GPS navigator for muggle
Hi Gavin My 2c worth... Have a Garmin Nuvi 500 myself but purchased a Nuvi 1390 for my geographically challenged partner last x-mas.... Although not the cheapest features like coloured lane indication at turns/intersections (red = no green = yes) and pictures of some intersections that pop up are go...

Re: Ipod touch software/applications ?
Another application that you may wish to look at is GCBuddy Not strictly a caching app like the geocache & geosphere apps - more deigned for doing multi's & puzzles at which it works very well, doing all the calculation for each waypoint as you collect the clues... As it works on the iphone assume i...

Re: help with oregon 200
i am put map on my gps but it will not let me it keep say not enough free space on the device to continue adding maps Peagle Boy, Think onboard memory of only 24MB may be your issue... I have OSM maps for Eastern Aus only & that loaded on my 300 & that's about 60MB..so at 24MB you be ](*,) You may ...

Re: So whats your main motivation for geocaching?
A bit of a mixture - something to do as a family group :D with partner & geo-daughter of by myself when no-one else is interested :) A bit of mental & physical challenge rather than sitting watching the tube of working @ home :-k , also gets everyone away from the PC & out in the fresh air.... =D>

Like The cash man I'm a relative newbie at caching.. First find was 27/12/08...:) Bought Nuvi 500 as a multi-use GPS car & cache. Very easy to load gpx files direct from cache pages as individual files (although now have discovered the advantages of GSAK) Found Nuvi to be reasonably accurate and clo...
