Only problem I have had with a laptop in and out of the US is Qantas wanting to check if it was a Dell or Apple that I had the appropriate battery replacement done before I used it on the plane. Otherwise it was just needed to be scanned separately like anywhere in Oz.

We bought this map set and have it happily running from within OZiexplorer. (This is under WinXP J_&_J). I like it a lot as you get a lot more detail in the maps compared to Mapsource. I did actually manage to import geocaches into the Brisbane UBD version. Its a bit fiddly with the conversion to AGD66 grid coordinates. I posted the process here a few months back http://forum.geocaching.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=211
