Re: Overseas GCA caches et al
Many thanks for that, it all makes perfect sense (after all, Groundspeak only allow up to 10 times one thousand caches in a single HQ day and you need to be a Premium Member for that). :D I just thought there might have been something I missed where someone would say 'you silly duffer, you just sele...

Overseas GCA caches et al
Apologies if this has been asked before but is there a query option that returns only GCA caches that aren't located in Australia? I know there's not a lot of overseas GCA caches but there are a few scattered throughout Europe, Asia and the Pacific Islands including NZ. For anyone doing a 'Grand Tou...

Re: Event Ideas
This event, Meet and greet Traralgon (GC3YRW8) , was in the back garden of the Star Cafe in Traralgon. You'll notice that it is not 'advertised' in the cache description although sushilord announced it in his log of 18 November 2012 . I'm not sure how he arranged it with the cafe owners but maybe yo...

Re: Is this typical Aussie style?
... The only mysteries that are at the posted coordinates here are challenge caches where it clearly stated that "the cache is posted coordinates" ... This is not always 100% true as some non-challenge mystery caches are at the posted coordinates but perhaps I'm saying too much. :-$ Whoops, probabl...

Re: Discovering Lost TBs
(Although that site just does bulk logging. You still need to 'capture' the code of each trackable to enter into the list.)

Oh dear, should I? Shouldn't I? OK, here goes: Log Them All!
Like many things, in the correct hands, a great time saving tool; in the wrong hands, easy logging!

Hear, hear!Just a cacher wrote:... if a cache is archived, it should also be physically removed. Otherwise caching is adding to litter and pollution.

Re: Garmin Oregon 650
I've recently had a problem with the unit. I'll call it 'jamming' onto a particular screen after which it was nigh on impossible to get it to go back to any other screen. Even if I could, it would quickly revert to the item that it had come from. Using the Geocaching dashboard, this would be the cac...

Re: Garmin 650
Make sure you do your homework. These units aren't cheap and they are pretty buggy (I've just sent my Oregon 650 back to Garmin after 9 months because the screen was jamming onto a menu item and wouldn't allow me to return unless I turned it off and back on. Garmin have actually replaced the whole u...

Re: Garmin 650
The Garmin Monterra might be what you're looking for, depending on your budget of course. It's the same size as the Montana but holds 4,000,000 caches, has an 8 MP camera and is Wi-Fi enabled with an Android operating system so that you can download stuff from Google Play such as a Wherigo player.

Re: Garmin Oregon 650
Whoops, I meant to post an update earlier than this. Thanks for your advice gmj3191, I gave Garmin a ring on the number you provided and got a job number from them. From the conversation with them though, I had a sneaking suspicion that they would be sending it back to me after "5-10 working ...

Re: GCA Rewards Program
Before I continue, let me put it on record that this is more of a heads-up for your own quality control purposes than a whinge 'cos I reckon receiving a pathtag for free for passing a given number of finds is unbelievably generous. =D> \:D/ =D> Having said that, a wise person once told me that you i...

Re: 'Placing' a trig point - what's the protocol?
Many thanks. I'll put 'Geocaching Australia' in the hidden by slot and then claim the find. You won't see FTF in my find log though unless it's to say that I'm not claiming it.
