Re: Trig points - a general discussion
I too usually keep an eye out for them when i'm out travelling on rural roads. I have logged a few and have found some that are clearly on private property. I have wondered in the past why some were placed were placed where they are and who actually used them. Those trig that are located on the top ...

Re: The Long Way Round - TB race from South Africa to Australia
Well our Aussie Geokids Thongs Racer turned out to have a disappointing race. I got an email on the weekend to tell me it has definitely gone missing. I suspected this as it hadn't moved for months. Someone has a nice shiney new TB for their collection. It managed to travel a massive 63km!! oh well ...

I reckon they are good but expensive for what you get!! You can get twice the size with more salad from the local hamburger shop.

Re: Jialbreaked iPhone Issue
Awesome well done Mr. Coffee.
I used this thread as an excuse to jailbreak my wife iPhone but discovered there is a whole lot of changes if you have upgraded to the 3.1 firmware.
Just reading up on it now. Last thing i need is to brick the wifes iPhone!!

It shouldn't have wiped anything off your phone at all. I will have a look tonight and check what I did.

Daily GCA email
Is it possible to get the daily GCA email from 2 states? I live in NSW but very close to the NSW/QLD border, so it would be great to be able to keep an eye on whats going on north of the border.

Re: Jialbreaked iPhone Issue
Redsnow is the one i use and is extremely easy to use. Everything from iTunes works fine with it. The only issue i have is that when i what to send an sms, it takes about 10 secs or so for the screen to load. Otherwise its awesome. The ability to run multiple apps makes it well worth the upgrade, ev...

Re: iPhone Apps
I agree with all your points nomad_penguin. I have found the geosphere to be an excellent tool for preparing a big day. I have only had one issue. I have had problems uploading my field notes. It requires a few more steps than the geocaching app, and it has failed more time than it has worked. I fou...

Re: iPhone Apps
Ive been following this thread with interest and decided to try out the geosphere software. Like Jardry, we are in a rural area and phone signal can be patchy at times. I purchased the software and after a few minutes playing with it, I hit it with a 10mb gpx file from GSAK!! It handled it like a ch...

Re: 2009 Cyber Flash Mob Topic “Positive Caching Experience”
Our most positive experience is going out to remote places with my family and enjoying the out of the way places that are in our backyard. This has been a fantastic bonding experience for all of us, while getting out of the house into the outdoors.
