Re: Report Site Issues Here

I was wondering if there's any site reason why, every time I leave the forums, I have to log in again? Might be some setting of mine but it doesn't seem to happen anywhere else. I select "Log in automatically" but it doesn't. If I close this tab, then return to it, I'll have to enter user-name and ...

Re: Found Caches Pocket Query

Thank you, I have been running one I created and last ran the bottom one about 4 years ago (prior to going over the 100 limit). It pays to scroll to the bottom!!

Thanks again for your assistance.

Found Caches Pocket Query

I am hoping someone can help me please [-o< . I keep all my found caches in GSAK and somehow I have managed to miss a couple (GC number is greater than GSAK number). I currently run a PQ for my found caches to upload however as PQ's are restricted to 1000 results, and without checking the 1000 retur...

Re: Puzzle and multi cache coordinates

GSAK runs on your computer and uses Google Maps there, it does not load them onto your GPSr and doesn't affect the maps you have on it. It can load caches to your GPSr in bulk rather than one at a time and within GSAK you can filter and select which ones you want to load (or don't load). I cant reca...

Re: Your First Cache

Our first cache was found with one of the old Nokia Navigator phones (pre-smartphones) where I needed to convert the cache coordinates into a format the phone would accept, dropping several decimal places from the conversion and hoping it was still accurate. The cache was a nice easy find that we ha...

For me I have a 300KM radius from home of both GC and GA caches loaded (10,000 Caches loaded) My smart phone w...

Cache to navigate by

I just wanted to share a little story from a friend who recently walked the AAWT from Walhalla to Canberra. As she was approaching the halfway mark the trail markers were a little harder to see and they managed to get off track and find their way to a farmers property. It was then she remembered the...

Re: Tomtom vs Garmin in car GPS

Depending on your budget the Garmin Montana does both. You can load your caches from GSAK and then place it in the car mount, switch it to driving (Nuvi) mode and it becomes a car navigation system with voice guidance. You arrive at you parking coordinates, remove it from the mount and switch back t...

Re: Caches in children's playgrounds

I have been accosted in a playground when I did have my kids with me. We had found the cache (a Nano under the platform) and were then playing with the kids around the playground when a person (un-accompanied male) walking past stopped and attempted to enquire as to what we were doing.
