Re: How did everyone go in the floods/fires?

Fuddley and my Harriet Island caches would definitely have been affected by the floods, being in the Burnett River. They are (were?) ammo cans chained to trees so should have survived, but some local intelligence suggests they may be buried under a lot of sand transported and dumped on the island by...

Re: Best Caches in... ???

At Noosa, I suggest GCWBBA and GCC737 - a great walk with ocean vistas through Noosa National Park and possibility of koala bear sightings. Three star terrain for both these caches is about right as there is some rock scrambling involved. Continue on to the point then a walk back along one of the tr...

managing tracks generated by Garmin Dakota

I want to create a file of a selected section of a track generated on my Garmin Dakota. Can someone recommend (free?) software I can transfer the file into to cut and dice tracks?

Re: "Boy Look"

Personally, I can't see the point in making a cache sooooo hard to find, that even cachers can't find it. To me, camo is to beat muggles, and if it's really good, a hint should be supplied for cachers. Who wants to hide a cache that no-one can find? You can't appreciate it if you can't find it. So ...

Connecting Garmin Dakota to Ipad

I'm considering getting an Ipad2, but note it doesn't have a USB port. Apple have a camera kit accessory with a USB port available. Will my Garmin Dakota be able to connect with the Ipad using this accessory? I want to be able to upload pocket queries via GSAK from Ipad to my hand-held Dakota GPSr. ...

Re: Visiting Brisbane Dec2011/Jan 2012

If you can get to the Gold Coast (70 or so km South of Brisbane), the power trail on the Spit near Surfers Paradise is worth doing, nice trail and iconic views of the Pacific ocean at the end of it. Will take a bit of organisation - transport there, transport to get back to the start of the trail. B...

Maybe we could be a bit more specific than just 'Frogs'. How about 'Dead Cane Toads'. That should differentiate from Signal  :-"

Re: Geocaching on the Gold Coast

Keep an eye on Bravo Hotel at Burleigh Heads - the oldest continually running cache in Queensland. Currently offline but it may be back in time for your visit. There's an earthcache on the walk to Bravo as well.

I think it's for good, and good on ya vampirate for getting the record. Bundy's and your integrity and transparency is evidenced by starting this thread. People play this hobby their own way, and your way seem pretty robust to me!

Re: For the pedants amongst us ...

Maybe someone needs to add a WIKI page on writing proper English. Or maybe just address poor spelling by adding the suggestion to type all text into Microsoft Word first and use spellchecker, before cutting and pasting into GC.com or GCA.com. OK, spellchecker is not perfect - it uses american Englis...

Re: Cache Sizes

My question is how the the hell do you fit a log in that? I was always operating under the assumption that a cache, as a minimum, consisted of a container and a log. Perhaps it's a version of Dr Who's "Tardis" (You know, the telephone box that, when you walk into it, turns out to be a very spacious...
