Plucker and Pictures
Hi
Interested to know if anyone has a relatively easy way to get the photos for geocache pages down into a PDA and thus readable in Plucker.
I currently use GSAK to create the html for exporting via Plucker to my PDA but this does not include the photos.
Thoughts?
Thanks
Andrew

I had a thought once - I found myself in unfamiliar territory.
Sorry.
Use this to test it with. I have emptied it first.
The Bronze.
"Cook, Cook, drink your tea,
But save some in the pot for me.
We'll watch the tea leaves in our cup
When our drink is all sipped up.
Happiness or fortune great,
What will our future be?"

Hi
I am using the GUI interface for Plucker and there is no menu item/tick box for pictures that I can find, however, I did find in the help a command line for same. Just need to work out what to do it with it and then see if that works.
I assume that Plucker goes off gc.com to download the linked pictures. If it relies on the output produced by GSAK then I can't see it working as GSAK output has no pictures in it as Bear_left alluded to.
If the later applies, will have to look at Bear_left's work around. Only problem I can see is that I am using a Zire 21 with 8mb of memory!

Just having a look at how my plucker is set up.
I'm using Plucker Desktop 1.6.2.0
Run the Plucker Desktop application.
Set up your channel.
There should be 8 tabs at the top.
Starting Page
Spidering
Limits
Formatting
Images
Output options
Destination
Scheduling
Check the limits tab.
You will need to set plucker to have a maximum depth sufficient to get the images.
1 = start page only.
2 = Get information for links on the start page.
3 = Get information for links on the pages at level 2.
4 and so on.
You may need to run a few tests to see what level you need to go to.
Have a look at the stat on host tick box.
If the image is linked in from a different host, you may need to look into whether you want this ticked or not.
Basically this tells plucker whether to only get files from a certain host.
eg. www.geocaching.com
As you are running this from a local PC file (ie. your output from GSAK) you may need to test which host you need to include / exclude / etc.
Check the Images tab.
You should be able to set up your image handling from here.
Again, run some tests to see which depth and file size you want to restrict the detail to.
While I don't grab images for every cache (I only have a Palm Vx with 8MB memory) I do occassionally set up a single image grab from Ozi and use Plucker to send it to the Palm. So I know you can get images.
Don't know what the help for Plucker is like, but have a look at each of the two tab pages (Limits and Images) and see whether it does help.
