Souvenirs
Just out of interest, have there ever been souvenirs for hiding caches?
Seem to have them regularly for finding things, such as Earthcaches on the weekend just gone by.
Personally I'd like to see a maintenance souvenir one weekend. Can't have too much maintenance of caches!

Re: Souvenirs
Oh, look I maintained a cache FREE SOUVIE!
I think that the sites discourage "hide" souvies because people will hide something that they won't maintain just for the souvie. If I as a cacher don't want to a hide a cache but I want the souvie then I'll hide some grabage and abandon it just for the digital pixel thingies.

The full list of souvenirs given out by Groundspeak is at http://support.groundspeak.com/index.ph ... age&id=792. None for hiding at this moment.
There should be a souvenir for archiving a cache too

Re: Souvenirs
Perhaps GC could make a souvie for every day of the year. Everyone will soon get sick of them and GC can then stop wasting time on worthless crap and start fixing all the problems people are complaining about.
Wishful thinking

Re: Souvenirs
The problem is that from Groudspeak's point of view they aren't worthless crap. They flog off that much souvenir themed merchandise it becomes, from a financial point of view, one of the best things they have ever done. And because they hold copyright over the 'artwork' (for lack of a better term) Groundspeak have the exclusive rights to sell it and they can get away with charging excessive prices.WazzaAndWenches wrote:Perhaps GC could make a souvie for every day of the year. Meanwhile, those of us that don't care about souvies are completely forgotten about...
Re: Souvenirs
I anticipate DNFing my 1,000th cache this weekend! Surely that is worth a souvenir (not that I collect them...).Yurt wrote:How about "DNF a cache"? Would be a new experience for some!

Re: Souvenirs
If those 1,000 finds were Geocaching Australia caches, you would receive one of these.
