Re: GCA Android App - GA Cacher
I had some problems this morning in the field but when I got to work I saw that GCA was having issues.

Yes the site was indeed having issues.
About 50 of the same database query stacked up.
Pressing F5 doesn't speed up the process, it just stacks another long running query behind the one that's already running.
I've kicked the DB in the nuts and it now seems to be OK.

Re: GCA Android App - GA Cacher
Possible new feature - Clickable Log History
=================
With the moveable games each year, you often tend to collect a number of caches, and then later set about hiding them, which is the essence of the game.
When you hide one, you need to select it in the app so you can log it.
Aids in doing this might be:
- a QR tag on the cache which you can scan (a nice initiative this year by some)
- the cache code written externally on the cache (you still have to enter it and do a search)
- finding it on the map if it was originally not too far away
If there is no external code, and the other methods are a bit involved, you sometimes need to open up the cache to get the code off the log, so you can do your search
which can be pretty messy with some caches, especially the smaller ones.
It occurred to me that it might be a good idea to have a list of recent finds available in the app, so you could just pick the cache you want to log a move for, from the recent find list.
The app already has a recent log history.
It would be great if you could click on the items in this list to either bring up the new log screen for that cache, or just select the cache itself so you can then log it easily.

The history button gives you a list of recent logs. Just long press on the cache and you can open for details and logging. Works great.

Re: GCA Android App - GA Cacher

2. you can load a single cache with the Load-1 button
3. if you Long press on the Map view you can load caches centered around that location.
4. The History button should keep track of all your recent logs eg finds/moves etc..
thanks

Re: GCA Android App - GA Cacher
Yes, I was aware of the first 3, but they aren't always convenient to use when you're executing a move if there's no external QR code or cache number, and the cache is logged to a map location some distance away.
The long press on the history (Find Log) is the one I was after, but didn't know about it.
I had tried to tap the history logs, but had not long pressed apparently.
All perfect now, thanks Mtrax.
