What have you found in a cache?
Swaps - What is the most bizarre, unusal, rubbish or inappropriate swaps you have found.
some examples I have found -
inappropriate - condom opened & cigarette
Bizarre - Log note that was a drawn picture of a man and lady (you can work out the rest)
Rubbish - bus tickets & Gum nuts
Unusual - Travel bug with nothing attached (The Sexually Transmitted Bug apparently) told the kids it was a ghost
And lots lots more
What funny stuff have you found .
I have even found a stash of drugs while finding a cache .

Re: What have you found in a cache?
three come to mind.... a live and kickin' scorpion in this cache Allround views by Oznaturalist.... seems a fire had gone through, the container was cracked and a nice little surprise inside
other than that a condom (unused) in Go'n'do Ned's Corner Station by Jardry a few weeks ago and a Coopers Pale Ale label!!!! in Chinaman's View by Anja down Innes NP.... memorable as it was hot and I thought the bugger could have been a little more considerate and left a full one, in an esky, with ice

With that expiry date it probably went in prior to guidelines being in place.Shael6636 wrote:hmm cant remember the caches but I have found the following items:

Re: What have you found in a cache?
Can't think of an object that stands out, off-hand, but in a log book (Joe's Mountain) some muggle had written a note that he had been in the area with the lovely model (Renee or something like that) taking some 'tasteful' nude photographs! If anyone wanted the see the photos he left a web address!
I didn't write it down.

Re: What have you found in a cache?
I found a paper clip in a cache - just one of the ordinary bent metal ones. The surprising thing about it was that the person who left it had written in the log "took toy car, left paperclip" Why would you admit what an unfair swap you did, any what on eath use is a paperclip anyway.
Other junk: used train and bus tickets, plastic lid off a jar, plastic spoon, a button of no special colour, safety pins (usually rusty) the list is endless. Maybe it's just me who can see no value in these crappy items that would normally be found by going though my rubbish bin at the end of a week.

Re: What have you found in a cache?
Umm, I found a fishing fly ... by scrabbling around in the bottom of the ammo tin and getting 'caught'. I have seen other people acknowledging leaving fishing flys as swaps, so maybe it's just me ... they're really pretty and I'm sure quite useful, but I reckon in the bottom of a cache they're a bit of a hazard ...
Took me back briefly to my childhood fishing in Hinchinbrook Channel with the folks, and Mum had miscast and hooked my foot, which was still in the boat. It was a bit tricky getting her attention because she thought she'd hooked something big ...

Re: What have you found in a cache?
I just remembered last week a toilet roll 1/2 full on wright Island. most unusual to see but would definetly be handy for a person in need.
Also was reminder of the candle and crayon in the bottom of an ammo tin, the melted substance in the bottom was quite hypnotic. Should have kept it after cleaned it out but threw it out.

Re: What have you found in a cache?
An already-scratched scratchie.
The paper label off a teabag.
A broken golf ball with the innards spilling out (looked like rubbery worms!)
Way too much food to list.
A pencil sharpener with no blade.
I confess to removing all of the above and not swapping - I had nothing of remotely equal value.

Re: What have you found in a cache?
Regularly I find (and remove) all sorts of 'crud' when doing maintenance in my caches.
Used bus/tram tickets (my caches are all in a rural area with no public transport)
AA battery (someone did my series of caches and left one in some of my caches - I assumed they were used because they weren't even in their packaging)
tealight candle
used/spent glow stick/rings
raffle ticket
1/2 inch pieces of used chalk
empty glitter paint tube
bent out of shape used metal bracelet
scraps of paper with nothing written on them (paper not from log book)

Re: What have you found in a cache?
I've found,
Tampons
Condoms
Crushed Ping Ping balls
Half a smurf (it actually takes effort and/or a hacksaw to produce half a smurf.....)
Enough golf balls to open a pro shop
lots of leaked bubble blowing liquid (the stuff in those 'sticky' bubbles is the worst)
and
A winning scratchie, that had expired before the cache was found.
