Re: Moveable Cache Race
I was looking for a GA stash note - however it appears that the "A variety of sizes, made for Australia. (Thanks to dak's Emu Mob)" link is broken?caughtatwork wrote:Correct. You don't need swaps, but I always include a few small things.
A stash note is always a good thing.

Re: Moveable Cache Race
Crystal warrior and I have prepared our moveable cache and it's ready to go. While we are happy to win any of the prizes, we'd particularly like to win the most moves for this one. It lends itself to short, quick hops!
Let the race begin!

Re: Moveable Cache Race
Just a heads up. Some caches for the race are still in DRAFT mode.
To prepare it for automatic release on 1/1/2009, please go to your cache page and on the top right, click on Log this Cache.
Set the date to 1/12/2009.
Select a log type of Published.
Enter some text.
Hit the Log button at the bottom of the page.
If you now visit your cache again you should see the name of the cache in green indicating it will be published in the future by the GCA website.
Your cache will now be placed into a future publish mode, ready for 1st Decmeber.
On 1/12/2009 at around 00:01 the GCA website will automatically publish your cache as long as you have the publish log as described above.
If the name of your cache is still in GREY, it is NOT yet ready for publication. You can manually publish your cache on 1/12/2009 by setting a publish log with a date of 1/12/2009, but if you do as described above, it will be automatically done for you.

Re: Moveable Cache Race
I set the publish date for 1st December but it had a hidden date of whatever it wascaughtatwork wrote:http://geocaching.com.au/cache/GA1673firesafe wrote:Cache is ready to go on its journey with a starting point listed. Bring it on .
Your cache will be disqualified because it was published before 1-Dec-2009.
To avoid that, I'm going to set it to future publish on 1-Dec-2009.
Be not surprised when that happens.
Wouldnt help any one as I am not putting it in the cache until Monday night
Re: Moveable Cache Race
Wow! 29 people listed in the leaderboard so far! Should be a fun game.

Re: Moveable Cache Race
Does 00:01 mean the server time? ie with or without daylight saving?
I think it's going to be without the daylight saving so that means (for NSW and VIC) 1am in the morning I think? I know for a fact that my alarm can't be set for this time becasue my body clock is too deeply asleep to be woken
But that's ok, all you guys can get up in the middle of the night and fight over who's going to be first to find and move my cache

Re: Moveable Cache Race
AEST. That's a bit earlier in the west and possibly a bit later in the north of east. For Vic and NSW (not sure about Tas) this will be 00:01 AEST. SA will get them 30 minutes before their midnight.

Re: Moveable Cache Race
Is it possible to get a Map of the travels our caches have done ? Similar to that of a TB on GC, or will we be able to see them on the caching games site?

Re: Moveable Cache Race
Is there a way to see - when the game starts - what cache is where? I mean, a current listing of MCR caches per state? Or will I have to go to each individual listing?
(If that makes sense)
