Moveable Cache Race
Would anybody be interested in a moveable cache race?
Simple rules:
You hide a moveable cache on GCA (only one entry per geocaching name)
Game is run at http://www.cachinggames.com
Game runs during the months of December 2009 / January 2010
You can find and move your own cache once provided someone else is the FTF
Caches must be found and hidden by the same cacher (i.e. no mailing the cache to another cacher to hide)
No limit to the number of times other cachers can find / move the cache
No limit to the distance other cachers can move the cache
Other cachers in the game may find / move your cache, but they must move it on within 2 days
Cache must be size small or larger (i.e. no micros or nanos)
Prizes (probably a GCA pathtag):
Cacher whose cache travels the furthest in the allotted time
Cacher whose cache garners the most moves in the allotted time
Cacher whose cache moves the longest distance in a single move
Random position on the ladder
Random cacher who has moved a game cache
Anyone?

After coming across some of the Traffic Control series this sounds like a good idea.

Another caching game.
Yeah I'm in.
Re: Moveable Cache Race
Heh heh heh: evil plan hatching ...
I place one here in Oxford, tell a local cacher about it (and about GCA, so he/she knows how to log) and so they can do the FTF, and then I leave it until the day I fly home and then I pick it up and bring it with me! Then, whatever happens after that ... who cares!

That sounds like fun!
Clarification request, however:

FTF != spouse/partner/child/same roof? You can find and move your own cache once provided someone else is the FTF

Hmmmmm. Didn't think of either of those.SamCarter wrote:Heh heh heh: evil plan hatching ...

I'll exclude the owner from finding their own cache throughout the game, just to be on the safe side.
People who have a different caching name (even if they're under the same roof) can find and move the cache.

Re: Moveable Cache Race
I haven't found a moveable cache or played any geosport yet, but I'll give it a crack.
Re: Moveable Cache Race
Please note that I wouldn't REALLY have been that evil (well, I wouldn't have claimed a prize for it, although maybe I would have been that evil just for the fun).caughtatwork wrote:Hmmmmm. Didn't think of either of those.SamCarter wrote:Heh heh heh: evil plan hatching ...

Re: Moveable Cache Race
Firstly, thanks C@W for the idea. Count us in. Hoping to sneak away for a break soon after Santa brings me a day off from work, so hopefully can move a few caches around on our travels.
Secondly, thanks SamCarter and all the other cachers out there for the laughs we get from all the humerous posts . Makes reading the forums all that more enjoyable. (Why else would a weirdo like me be up at 0430 in the morning reading stuff on the little screen rather than dreaming strange thoughts )
