Re: 2017/2018 Summer Game
Problem with Tasmania's State totals???
Tassie have 2 cachers with 10 or more claims LilRafa with 11 and a total of 75.00 and Whitewebbs with 10 and total of 42.00 . Our multiplier is 1.00. The top row reads:
Average Points 21.00 State Balancer 1.00 Total Points 42.00 Total Claims 10
I'm not sure how this works as surely our total points are 117 and total claims 21 and the average should be 58.50. It looks like the program only recognises one cacher - in Tasmania's case Whitewebbs.
Have I missed something? I've also noticed Victoria's totals look odd.

Thanks - all goodChwiliwr wrote:At the bottom of the scavenges page are how the points are calculated. If you work out what you would normally have got for your find/hide you should be able to see if there is extra for the out of state.

Re: 2017/2018 Summer Game
Might be a problem with one of this week's scavenges.
The criteria is "Find and Log Locationless geocache: Noddy Cars (GA3333)"
Trouble is that GA3333 is actually Mosaics #2 by corunnaroad
Noddy Cars by Bristracker has the code GA2692
Hmmmn

Re: 2017/2018 Summer Game
Is it just me, or does this 'scavenge' read like I should be able to claim this?
"Find and log a geocache with the word (or partial word) "gnome" in the name' can only be claimed against a geocache that contains the word 'gnome'. Moveable Gnommander does not contain 'gnome' as words."
Gnommander HAS part of Gnome in it's name. I thought "gnom" would count as "or partial word". In fact, if you want to get technical, it has the full word in it, just with the E a little seperated.

Re: 2017/2018 Summer Game
I always took "partial word" as meaning that the word could either stand alone or be part of a bigger word. Therefore as gnome isn't in there as one continuous word it does not count

Unfortunately no. All letters in the original word must be present and in consecutive order. Only punctuation and spaces will be removed by the game software to make a match.No_Tomorrow wrote:Is it just me, or does this 'scavenge' read like I should be able to claim this?

This is an improvement over previous games where the word had to occur on it's own ie: I could not claim "Springton Trig" for the claim: find a cache with the word Spring in it.

Well if you took it to extremes any cache with the letter G in the name would count as part of the word "gnome"

Congratulations to the ACT, the best state of the nation, for taking out first place in the States of the Nation geocaching game. Each ACT team member who made the minimum contribution will receive an email confirming their win and ask for their address information so we can get their prize out to them.
Congratulations also go to the top 5 placed geocachers in each other state who will receive an email and be asked to provide their address information for a reward. Everyone who participated will receive a virtual reward on their geocacher page commemorating their participation in the States of the Nation game.
Thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of this game and the administrators J_&_J and Sol de lune for running this years game.
