I built a 5v Vreg into a cig lighter plug with a cable out to my ipaq.
also has a round garmin plug (12v) with a DB9 connected to the serial ports of both ipaq & garmin which are both connected via null modem internally. does pretty much everything i need!! cost $10 for the garmin power lead/plug off ebay... & chopped up a spare sync cable for the ipaq

OK as an autoelectrician by trade (but not by occupation) do not try to run an inverter from this item. The current draw will lead to failure. However I think this item would suit the PDA B/T GPS and phone thing even a small light for reading the mapbook. The only problem is where to put it! Wtih no mounting bracket it could become another unwanted projectile in a sudden stopping event (Car Crash!!).
That is my professional oppinion

Crisp Image is right these little darlings are for low current draw usage. I had my phonecharger, gps power and laptop power all supplied through one and it handled the load without a drama.Crisp image wrote:OK as an autoelectrician by trade (but not by occupation) do not try to run an inverter from this item. For those that missed out on Zazz... a similar site, CatchOfTheDay currently has what looks like the identical unit (in white) as a "small fish":
http://www.catchoftheday.com.au/smallfi ... cts_id=933
Cheaper than Zazz though... $15.90 including postage...
I think it will be there until midday tomorrow, but as we have seen, these seem to come around regularly...

They're baaack!!!! (again)rhinogeo wrote:Today Zazz is selling a 3 in1 Car power outlet + a USB outlet for only $18.70 incl postage
I borrowed one of these from someone who bought it on Zazz, nice looking unit, but didn't do what I wanted it to. I tried to run a FM Tuner and the charger for the phone (which was doing the audio output to the tuner) and there was way too much interference.
I bought a couple of those! And discovered it doesn't have an adaptor for newer Nokia phones, so add $10 to the price.Papa Bear_Left wrote:A different useful item today:
