GCA Newsletter #5

Post by The Spindoctors » 30 October 06 1:04 pm

Now that Issue 4 is out, time to plan for Issue 5.

I believe someone from a Geoshop should be able to write a product review on a regular basis. Alternatively, each shop can take turns and rotate the task around.

I'm not big on 'state updates'. It puts too much pressure on some of the smaller states to make-up content. Having said that, I won't descriminate on where it's from.

Also keen to hear from anyone who wishes to dob in someone for a geocacher profile. The short ones that I inherited are now well out of date.

Until I see a consistent structure in the newsletter, I'm tempted to stick with the current format.

There are some of my thoughts, but now I'd like to hear from you all.

Brilliant work! The format is great, but I have a suggestion for the formatting. The columns are longer than the screen, and require scrolling down, then scrolling back up for the next column. That's at 1024x768 resolution.

No, keep it the way it is.
The layout (like most PDF documents) is not designed to be viewed on screen, unless you have a large portait format monitor that is.

If you reduce it to 75% it is still readable. The A4 sizing to allow you to print it off.

Tick Tock.....(or if you're from Japan 'Tock Tick')

It's the end of December, which means time is running out for you to get your content in for GCA News 5. Use the Xmas break to write a story and send it in. Hey Ginger, got a crossword for us?

Sorry Bob, not gonna happen for Issue #5...

Work has gone into mega ballistic mode in the pre Christmas rush and I'm just too burgered to do much at night.

Someone else can have a go though...
