And I hope the winner of the "Beanie Trophy Challenge" got one with a pom-pom on it!

that was a typo on the part of the paper it was meant to be "Beni' which is the name of a local forest. He misquoted a bit as it happened but it was good to any article.

so... no.. no pom poms

Well well well, its good to see geocaching (geo-whating) getting some exposure. Pity about the 2 mugglers in the photo.

Nice work guys, hope to see all the ROG's at the 4x4 weekend.

How cools that - Yeah we were misquoted here and there but all in all I was pretty happy to be there. It was all Bens (Mix76's) idea for the story to generate more local interest. I was just tagging along more out of curiosity than anything. Initially Ben had written his own article but the paper was so interested they wanted to interview him about it.

I was thinking of asking them to do a follow up of the Trophy Challenge but have been slack and on holidays.

Great to see our website is finding its feet. Special thanks to .au for hosting us.

Ooh - can we start a 'geo-cayshing' vs 'geo-cashing' thread? ;)

I'm a cay-sher - haven't met an Aussie who isn't.

I bought my GPS when I was in the US late last year. My mum's (mom's) boyfriend (that sounds creepy), who's a military man, asked what I wanted with a handheld GPS.

"It's for geo-cay-shing."
"What's that?"
"Somebody hides a caysh, posts the coordinates on the Internet, and you go looking for it. Kinda like high-tech treasure hunting."
"What's a caysh?"
"You know - somewhere you hide stuff."
"You mean cash?"
"No, I'm pretty sure the rules don't let you put money in them."

Two countries separated by a common language :D
