Lots of good suggestions here. Thanks.

I found some good magnets at Jaycar, so they are definitely part of the cache.

After we made 2 prototype caches, the magnets fell off one. I guess that is the problem with trying to glue to plastics.

Hi All
another question along the same lines as the magnet, has anyone used velcro to attach your cache container if so how did you attach the velcro to the plastic container.
Thanks

You could try adhesive backed velcro?

Rivets or hot glue might work, it needs to be something stronger than the velcro.

Screws or rivets are better. Hot glue (and many other sorts of glues) doesn't stick too well to some plastics - peels off after a while.

A cache check last night revealed that one of the magnets came loose from the plastic used for prototype 2. :( We are going to replace the cache with prototype 3 (not made of plastic) while we find some better glue for prototype 2.

Velcro what a great piece of work. The 2 Dogs have 2 caches out there that use velcro and I am not telling which ones but the finders will know what ones I am talking about.
There are different types of velcro. Some is glue backed some is garden type. The sort you use to tie up roses.
I also have some fabulous magnets but I am not telling where I got them otherwise you will all start to pinch them from the drive in. Oh dear did I say that. Just don't do it.

The doherty's have at least one cache in Brisbane that uses velcro to good effect (at least it appeared that way to me, after i found it!). The velcro appeared to be adhesive backed velco 'dots'.

Ben.
