05-05-05 today

Post by roostaman » 05 May 05 6:16 pm

Just a note. Today is the 05-05-05. Only happens once every 100 years.
Did anyone do any '5' things today?

I placed my 5th cache (it was the 5th in the series), lost my phone at one of them ($ouch$), let loose a new TB to mark the date so I know how long he has been out there, found my 5th cache for May, (one that was eluding me), put $55 petrol in the car and started this thread at 5.05 pm. (although its 5+ mins later when I finished typing). Big day.

I was annoyed that I didn't think oif the date a little earlier, as I had a cache ready to place that could've been made a diff:5, terr:5 quite easily (take one clue out of the puzzle, put the final box somewhere nastier, like an island!)

A 5/5 on 5/5/05 would've been cool!

I was up at 5:55 am, and thought of it then, that it was 5:55:5:5:5

Weird ! :?

I did a 5km off-track walk today along the Georges River as part of a local walks mapping program for the Campbelltown bushwalking club. Half way through one of our group realised it was 05/05/05. :D

All good stuff. Someone in USA was even better prepared & set a cache event for "05/05/05 @ 05.05.05" for the real diehards. Good work.
For them it really is about the numbers - in a nice way.....

Big chance of one next year when we have 06/06/06 @ 06.06.06 or better still in 07 when it is a Saturday.

And they even got the date format right for a change!
