Movable Caches

Post by Gullivers Travels54 » 04 August 17 9:08 am

Hi .What are the opinions of the members towards a find on a movable cache ,that is only logged as a find and not moved on ,we have 2 logs on the same cache with just a find ,one being a "Found but have no time to move on" we would like to delete the log but only being new to GCA cannot find how to ?

You cannot delete logs at Geocaching Australia, only the cacher who own the log can delete it.

If it looks like a duplicate then let one of the GCA faeries know via the forums and they will look into it.

Deleting a "found it" log removes that geocache from the finders list of geocaches that they have found which is not an appropriate action (unless the log is a duplicate or the geocacher was clearly not there). A find is a find whether the geocache is moved or not. It is not mandatory to move a moveable geocache after you find it. You can find and leave it behind.

You may find that in some ways Geocache Australia is much less rules based than other geocache listing sites. You can essentially play the game you would like to play the game (provided it remains in the spirit of the game), but you have almost no influence (including deletion of logs) against the way that others also choose to play the game.
