Within reason though. If you can get *reasonably* close and it is just over a fenceline or something then I think it should stay, there isn't a requirement to touch the thing. If the only possible shot is from several hundred meters away with a big zoom lens then it should probably go.

Since most of the trigs can generally be looked up and coords found, I've been finding and publishing some located on private property, but logged (picture taken with GPS in frame) at the closest possible public access (ie. road) and only if the trig is located LESS than 161m from said closest public access. Anything over that distance and I don't publish it.
I have discussed this with a few fellow trig hunters and they think it is a good idea.

While I realise where you came up with that number, this site isn't beholden to the other one. Let's agree on 150 or 200 meters :D

150m, 160m, 200m? You make a decision based on the circumstances. Whether you like 100m and someone else likes 200m is irrelevant. Do what you want to do.
