From the list at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... gOGn6xoyY/ , 88 of the 176 are done.

But that doesn't mean that they are all published, for at least four of them I need to find out where the exact location could be and how to get there.
It also doesn't mean that there are only 88 caches related to it, because some have multiple markers. See http://geocaching.com.au/my/query/screen/7459 for the full list.

All with all it is getting there, now up to the more difficult second half. Thanks to every for the feedback, corrections, kudos etc!

And done! Well, the initial import is done.

176 records from the Engineers Australia database.
187 geocaches published. All are tagged with the string "engineers australia".
4 pending depending on confirmation from 3rd parties.
2 already disabled because of access issues: One is MIA and one is not accessible for the public.
15 logs already.

What have I learned?
- Primary source databases are a mess. Multiple primary source databases make that even more clear.
- Google Streetview rocks. It would be even better if it would not limit itself to asphalted roads and if there was a way to filter out the trees.
- There are a shitload of dams and bridges in Australia.
- Lots of historical stuff about the early engineering projects in this country.

I have not gotten any feedback from the Engineers Australia Heritage group on it, maybe later.

And now, tomorrow it's November and I don't have to worry about this for a while.

PS. On 1 December I'm going to start to FTF the ones I've visited in my adventures in Sydney. if you want to FTF them, be fast!

Great work Edwin ... it is good having all these virtuals to log and an avenue to learn more about our history.

Went and found my first one today, thanks. I knew the spot and it wasn't going to be too much of a walk on a hot humid day. Might have to head up to the Brooklyn ones next weekend.

I'm planning to get a few more of those Sydney ones but my real life keeps getting in the way. Clock is ticking....

Note I've edited the two locationless caches so each marker can be logged more than once by different people. Originally each marker could only be logged the one time.

Thanks Yurt, I'll be able to log a few now.

I have attempted 10 of these with 5 being successful.

I have wasted many hours driving to and searching for the other five, that are I'm fairly confident aren't there.

What are the owner's plans for the ones that I and/or other people have DNFd?

Is the owner planning to go and check on these?

Or is the owner going to Archive them?

I just wish they were off my nearest to home searches, if they aren't there.

Add them to your ignore list and they should stop coming up.

It's only 18 days ago since the import was completed.

I've received a lot of "found it" logs. I have received some (from you for example) of didn't find or couldn't find logs.
I will deal with them over time.

Based on a quick google I think that is a Victorian Heritage marker. I've send you a message via the GC email thingie.

That marker was placed in 12 September 2015, the data I worked on was from July 2015. You found a new one! *ding ding ding lights flashing*
