TRLT (The Road Less Travelled) Series???

Post by Now_To_Morrow » 08 September 15 8:35 am

I've noticed a tonne of caches being hidden in the Mudgee NSW region that appear to be a series but are being hidden by a number of cachers.

Does anyone know, is it a specific group of cachers doing this, or some challenge, or what? I don't do Facebook so can't check there if it is a group thing.

I've always been a fan of roads less traveled and the poem, so I can't wait to make a few trips out that way (might take a few to find them all AND enjoy the journey). Saddly I don't have a car at the moment so can't get over there.

There's a guy on the Greater Western Sydney FB Group (https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid ... 2192307918) who seems to be the CO and has been discussing this series. He says that it's intended as a nice two day adventure with an overnight stay in the middle somewhere.

There are at least 4 different COs from different places nearby that I've noticed so far, each with numerous hides in the series. That's why I'm wondering if it is a "thing".

I am but one of 8 cachers who have put this touring trail out. Not sure what a "thing" is?

Please relay my congratulations on this project to the others.

Sorry, I should be more specific...
Its it a specific group of people hiding them? Is it a challenge for the hiders? Is it something others can join in on in their own areas?

Yes, there was 8 of us involved in creating this touring trail, we designed it to get people onto the quieter back roads, see some scenery they may never normally, experience a few small towns they probably have never heard of, take it easy over 2 days, almost no micros, ok, 2 from the 147 in total.

It has been placed for people to enjoy, in usual weather, is 2WD all the way, some dirt, a lot of tar as well.

Thanks Team Webguy. I'm looking forward to giving the trail a go soon. Just out of curiosity, I don't suppose you have a list of all the roads in the trail to make it a little easier to search and plan a trip? Or camping event?

No worries, now get out and enjoy it, the countryside is starting to really green up out there at the moment.

If you want a free camp at the start (Mudgee end) Then look up a cache called TSR, great camping spot.

Midway or just past, wattle flat, or near sofala.

Windeyer has a "caravan park", detour to hill end for pub accommodation, rent a house cheap in sofala. Not sure about anywhere else.
