The LGA Challenge

Post by caughtatwork » 01 June 15 3:46 pm

Does anyone know if there is a geocaching.com LGA Challenge cache? i.e. Find a cache in every Local Government Area in either a state or the whole of Australia? I'm looking to do something but I'd like to know if the challenge exists first.

Thank you very much. I want to create a plot showing which LGA's you've found a cache in, so now I know it may be of use, I'll do it when the weather is cold.

After I spent ages making myself a map of this on QGIS, I had it pointed out to me that there is a tool to do this on Project-GC.

bummer, I wasn't sure if that would be the case or not. Can you access the same thing from the stats page? Apparently you can see it there too

OK, got that one. Bit small to see the urban LGA's. Nice idea, now to get my version to work :-)

Nice, I'd been contemplating doing something similar for Perth and/or WA. Pity Challenge caches are currently under a moratorium

Is there a similar NSW version of the VIC LGA cache? I've started my own map for Sydney and then maybe I'll try for the rest of NSW, one personal challenge at a time. It would be great if the Project-GC map could zoom in a little further, far more useful for us city dwellers.

Why the problem with a paid membership.

It's the way our society works.
You do things for other people and they give you money.
You use the money to pay for things you want.

Some people in red shirts tried another scheme. It didn't work very well and things like ambition and hard work weren't encouraged or rewarded. People got shot.

"A paid membership is required to access this specific page." is the content of that page when I visit it. The problem with paid membership is I don't have one, so I can't see the image in question. Hence the sad face. I could not see what I was being referred to.

Well worth getting a paid membership.
The stats and other resources here are extremely useful and relevant if you're a serious cacher.
