THE GREAT GNOMELANDS MOVEABLE CHALLENGE

Post by rogerw3 » 02 March 14 11:52 am

The Great Mt Piddington Moveable Challenge

Something a bit different, this challenge is open to all cachers.

Your challenge is to find and take away as many moveable from the Gnomelands as you can during the month , you may can make as many visits as you wish, the tally at the end of the month is what matters. There are currently 40 moveables left in the Gnomelands.

This will run from May 1 until June 30.

There will be a prize for the winner, this is to be determined but will at least include 31x different Pathtags plus whatever else I can get together. Special thanks to Tuena for his contribution to thePathtag prize.

Points will be awarded as follows:
1x point for each moveable found and relocated away from the Gnomelands.
2x points for each new moveable brought in and hidden in the Gnomelands.

Points to be awarded:
When a moved log has been done.
If taken from the Gnomelands it must be relocated away from the Gnomelands, anywhere in Australia is fine.
If brought in from outside the Gnomelands it must be relocated in the Gnomelands.

The fine Print:

There is no requirement to match the number of moveables you bring in and/or remove. Feel free to take away as many as you can manage even if you cannot bring in any or bring in as many as you can and take away nothing!

The same moveable can be found again by the same cacher provided there are at least two moves by other cachers between finds.

The Gnomelands is deemed to be the Mt Piddington Headlands (Some small leeway will be allowed, at the judges discretion!). The centre of the Gnomelands at S33° 36.166' E150° 15.371'

The judges decision will be final and no correspondence or discussion shall be entered into!

Great idea. Be good if there were a rival Gnomeland they could be moved to for additional points.

I am interested, so...

What size/area is gnomelands played in?

What size are the gnomes? Are they garden gnomes or can they be anything gnomey of any size?

Does the organizer have to hide the gnomes to kick start the challenge, or is it reliant on others joining in?

Are there any tips on setting up a rival gnomeland for this challenge?

thanks :) :gnome

Whatever you think would be appropriate, you can use the existing Gnomelands as a guide if you wish. In the Mt Victoria Gnomelands all moveables are welcome, there are Gnomes, Frogs, Bingos and Angels as well as standard moveable caches.

It would be best to place some moveables in the chosen area to attract cachers keep in mind that you could end up with a great many caches so pick an area with plenty of hiding spots for all shapes and sizes.

Whether you have a prize for your Gnomelands is of course up to you.

What about points for log and leave ... heck, I am halfway there :D

Oh well, at least I know of many a hidey place (and possibly its inhabitant)...I cannot help but think though that a raid and move eastwards will only help the City slickers with their count.

It may be more fun to set up camp and watch the raiders trudge back up that hill with their captives

Special thank you to Tuena for his contribution to the Pathtag prize.

Don't forget these also count towards your Dragon Zone score.

The Gnomelands population has now increased to 124 as of today!

Only a couple cachers have expressed interest, I would have thought that with the Dragon game it would have attracted more attention.
