Primary Coordinate Datum change.

Post by hillster » 16 January 14 3:31 pm

I there. I am new to caching. I have purchased an Magellan Explorist 510 and I am very happy with the purchase. I find the GPS gets me to the geocaches spot on. However, the Primary and Secondary Coordinates are off. I looked on the net and found out that I have to change the 'Datum' from WGS84 to what we use in Sydney Australia.

Can any one please tell me what 'Datum' to use. There are a large number on the GPS to select from.

Geocaching is based on WGS84, so if that's what set, it right.

Thanks mate. I went on the net again and looked up a forum for the GPS. One suggestion was to change the Type from Degree to Degree/Minute. As a result it changed it to my coordinates according to Geocaching.com. Thank you for your help.
