Re: How many found in between home and your nearest unfound.
My nearest unfound is 32.2klm from home. This includes GCA GC and Trig caches. I have 133 finds inside this 32.2k radius. If I had a 4WD or access to one without hiring then my nearest would be over 50klm from home and I would nab another 8 finds. But when you live in the country whats a few 100k or more to find a cache.
Re: How many found in between home and your nearest unfound.
My nearset unfound is less than 1km from home and there is only 1 that I have found closer! I'm never fond of micros and there are so many of them that I'm happy to ignore quite a few. And then there are puzzle caches which I'm not so good at so often don't attempt. Unfound ones nearish to home aren't that interesting really.
I am finding that there are soooooooooo many new caches hidden in the suburbs that I simply ignore the lot. I decide where I'd like to go for the day - beach, bushwalk, drive in the boondocks or whatever - and then look for whatever caches happen to be there.

My nearest unfound is only 0.96 km away, but 5.5 metres underwater!
I have 5 found within that radius.
Paddling/diving adventure, anyone?

My nearest unfound is 7.95km away, and there are 136 caches closest than that, some of which I own.
Not counting my own, there are 118.

Re: How many found in between home and your nearest unfound.
I have a group of puzzles that have sprung up very close to home. 1 km is the closest. Once I get these - I have solved them all - my next nearest will be 3.99 kms away and I have 161 found inside that radius
Re: How many found in between home and your nearest unfound.
At the end of 2011 I had cleared everything out to 20km. 2280 found caches in the zone. 195 placed caches in the zone.
A holiday in Mexico and Van Diemen's Land for a fortnight and it is now down to 2.05km.

Well mine just dropped from 140-odd to 7, with a new cache published a mere 980 metres away. Now I will play the game of how long can I ignore it

My nearest unfound is still 1.5km away. My numbers of finds in that radius is now 34.Bewilderbeest wrote:My nearest unfound is a mere 1.5km away (the rate of in-fill around here in the last 6 months is hard to believe). My number of finds in that radius (including archived etc) is 27.
Note: these counts exclude moveables and locationless but include events and archived caches

Since completing the 'Shooting' challenge in the caching games, my nearest unfound has moved from 1.64km to 3.34km!! I was surprised to find that I have found 55 caches within that circle. Only 39 of them are still active.

I'm back up to 6.21 km with 265! Not counting the newly published cache that got muggled before it was even published...noikmeister wrote:Well mine just dropped from 140-odd to 7, with a new cache published a mere 980 metres away. Now I will play the game of how long can I ignore it

Re: How many found in between home and your nearest unfound.
My nearest unfound is now 880m away (because SOMEONE published a puzzle almost a week ago!) ...which would most likely not be my nearest one, depending on the end coords.Bronnie_1990 wrote:...Nearest unfound is 650m away (A crappy poor maintained multi. Ahem.)
There's two in between that distance!! (Which is kinda disturbing, but hey, i love cache density)
next unfoun...nope, there's that 5 star difficulty puzzle, next!
next unfound trad/multi..1.2km away.
There is 10 caches (well, 12 if you include those damn puzzles!) between home and it!
Re: How many found in between home and your nearest unfound.
Having a play/cleanup in GSAK and thought I would check out this stat. Nearest unfound is 6.6Km away, excluding movables in this area, I have found 73 caches.
This give an area of approx 140 sq Km, and a density of 0.521 Caches per sq Km
