Have you gone to the main GCA page. Go to second selection Caches then scroll down to locationless. There is a two page list of these caches. Most of these you need to pay a visit to a site but there are a few ' do at home" types.

sort of does away with the "geo" part of "geocaching", doesn't it? and the "caching" bit as well, come to think of it...

Yeah pretty much. I hate to slam people's efforts, but those two (yes stringy, two of those links are for the same cache) caches are terrible.Papa Bear_Left wrote:sort of does away with the "geo" part of "geocaching", doesn't it? and the "caching" bit as well, come to think of it...

Each to their own.
For the more rural and remote geocachers who don't have thousands on their doorstep, locationless caches offer an opportunity to be part of the geocaching community.
Even though some locationless caches may not seem worthy to some, it still means they can get out (even into their backyard), grab some co-ordinates (needs GPS) and log their photo or other qualifying criteria.

They are by far the most popular cache type by avg number of finds!
Re: To-Do-At-Home-Caches
Actually, I'm pretty keen to "find" a few locationless caches but they all seem a bit too difficult! Quite a few of them require a fair bit more effort than a traditional cache. Even stringy's suggestion of the lawnmower would require me in concience to start the mower and mow the back lawn

Re: To-Do-At-Home-Caches
I treat locationless as opportunistic, and browse the list every so often. I might be driving in the country and spot an unusual letterbox without specifically trying to find one. Stop the car, grab the pic with the coords, and off I go. A bonus find for the day. Found a milestone marker on the last trip to Victoria which I wasn't even looking for, just noticed them so stopped at the next one.
