Looking to start a Aust/NZ benchmarks category on Waymarking

Post by fathrtime » 13 December 09 7:31 pm

Hi,
I'm looking to start a new category in Waymarking.com for logging Australia and New Zealand benchmark disks. If any Premium Groundspeak members are interested in helping to get this category up and running see my post here: http://portal.groundspeak.com/forums/thread/27148.aspx

Currently Waymarking.com only has Australian Trig Points category and Geocaching.com.au only has Trig Points able to be logged via the traditional caching type method. With half the Trigs unable to be accessed (private land or on towers etc) and trigs being at least 10-20km apart it doesnt leave all that much to be logged. What about State Survey Markers? There are some great Vertical control marker disks, hiding on the top of just about any hill in Australia over 100m, to be found and logged (many marked on Topo maps). Geocaching.com only does USGS marks, Waymarking.com doesnt have anywhere for them (as the Trig Point guys don't want them added) and Geocaching.com.au only has a single cache for each state where found markers can be added to.

Any help or feedback is appreciated.

Cheers.
