Aussie Rules (AFL) 2009
I know this has nothing to do with Geocaching but the 2009 season of Aussie Rules kicks off on Thursday night with Richmond vs Carlton.
Who do you support?-We want to know!!

I can predict the grand final this year I think...The Pies vs Cats, 4th Quarter 30secs to go. Dale Thomas takes a 'screamer' of a mark for the Pies. The Pies are down by 2. If Thomo kicks this Collingwood win the flag, with 10 secs on the clock. The crowd are roaring...Thomo kicks
GOAL!
The Pies win the flag by 4 points!!
(Yes I am a big Pies Supporter)
Thanks,
Cam

The Australian Football League (AFL) is the professional Australian national competition in the sport of Australian Rules Football.
The league comprises sixteen teams which play 22 home and away rounds between late March and late August or early September. This is followed by a four-week finals series which culminates in two teams playing off for the Premiership, in the Grand Final.

Despite the fact I am now living back in Sydney, I supported the Swans from when I lived here before, and went to a few games. That was when League was self-destructing over Super League and all that.
Unluckily all the games I went to the Swans would be leading to 3/4 time then blow it.
Funny living in Adelaide though, usually you only had to be talking to someone for 5 minutes before they asked if you followed Crows or Port. They got a shock if you answered NO. Very parochial place.

Hate to say it, I'd rather stay home and watch the AFL over geocaching most days.
I enjoy following it from Sydney as I don't have to put up with the over the top media coverage they throw at you in the southern states (that's coming from a journo).
Those who know me, know who I barrack for. I'm looking forward to seeing them play in September again and maybe win the flag - it's been a while.
