UK Maps for Ozi

Post by Cached » 04 February 07 9:51 am

Hi All,

Heading off to the UK on 30 Jun this year.

Anybody got any Ozi maps to share? Or links to web ones?

Any advice? Not to miss caches?

We've got 2 weeks self drive, then a trafalgar tour (european escapade) for 21 days and then a few in the south of france and then back to london.

Anybody done any caching from a bus tour?

Any/all info greatly appreciated.

If you've got a Pocket PC there's a version of Tom Tom available. Can't say where. ;)

Maccamob did a bit of caching from various bus tours when they visited us here last year. Be prepared for some frustration - there were a couple of times when they were withing a couple hundred metres of a cache, but the length of the bus stops for lunch, etc. just wouldn't allow a search without delaying everyone ...

Have fun on the trip - it's a beautiful part of the world!

The English version of Ozi, well it's not a patch on Ozi really but it allows importing of waypoints etc for use when caching etc. is called MemoryMap and the whole of the UK is available in 50k (Landranger series) and 25k (Explorer series), the maps are very nice quality.

MemoryMap is one site you can get them from but there are MANY others, pricing varies so have a good look around
