Any volunteers?

Post by Marga » 20 September 04 1:00 am

Hello! I'm a 17 year old student from Belgium and I'm looking for an Australian from Canberra, Melbourne or Brisbane (or in the neighbourhood of those cities) with a webcam and MSN Messenger. The intention is to chat with that person during a lesson of English. We will chat about Australian music, about Australia itself, etc. It will take place at Tuesday, 28 of September, between 17.15 and 18.05 your time. If you think you could help me out, let me know and we will arrange all details!

Kind regards,
Marga :)

G'day Marga,

Are you a geocacher? If so, what is your geocaching.com name?

Just wondering.

Cheers

hmmm. gc.com seems to think you don't exist, both with or without the dots.
Sure you're not trying to have a lend of us?

I searched geocaching.com for variants of the name "Marga". Nothing turned up. The name is not recognised as a member name.

It means the evidence suggests your answer was more fiction than fact, that you're playing fast and loose with the truth. You are trying to have us believe you are a member of geocaching.com when you are not.

I joined the 15th of September. Why should I lie for that? :?

You obviously know absolutely nothing about geocaching! You are a member of the discussion forum on the Australian Geocaching web site.

You were asked what your www.geocaching.com (gc.com) member name is, not what your forum name is. We can see your forum name, because it is attached to your forum posts, but that has nothing to do with your identity in the geocaching community at large.

This forum exists to allow geocachers to discuss geocaching, ostensibly in the Australian context, but the forum is open to all geocachers. Note that I said "open to all geocachers".

As you are obviously not a geocacher (as evidenced by the fact that you don't even know what gc.com means), then you are "having a lend of us" by using this forum t achieve your (non geocaching) ends.

Cheers,

It would seem to me that Marga only came in here to ask for help from some of us for an English assignment.
So can I ask why did you all give her the third degree?
Dosn't seem to be a very nice way to treat our visitors geocachers or not.
