Roblisa problem

Post by The Spindoctors » 07 April 04 3:54 pm

I'm unable to generate a list of caches that I have found using the roblisa website. If I change to caches not found, I get all of them. I thought I may be typing in my username incorrectly, and also tried our usernames, but no luck - same result.

Other sections work.

Any suggestions? Is it broken?

I don't think this feature has worked for a while. I think it just gives you every cache regardless of whether you select this option or not.

RobLisa Page

Just curious, does RobLisa have to actually update the gpx files or are they taken directly from GC com? I notice there is a date that the data is current to on the RobLisa page.
Thanks very much for this service anyway. I don't know what I'd do without it as I am not a Premium member. Also thanks to GSAK without which the data would not be as useful.

Cheers, Darrell

The files I download, be they SA or all of Aust, all are 1k only. No data. Is there anything wrong with the roblisa site or am I doing something wrong. HELP

Odlid Dave was showing me the roblisa site yesterday and had the same trouble - the downloaded file (when requesting all NSW caches) was just 67 bytes in size.

You don't need to be a premium member to get the same level of data from gc.com. Just download it as a .loc file and convert it

How?

Post by TeamAstro » 07 June 04 11:09 pm

Thanx for your replies. I must be thick. I have looked at gc.com and cannot see how to download, say, all the SA caches.

Can you explain how this is done. The RobLisa site allows, in one simple download, a file that contains ALL caches from each state, or a ~1M file of all of Aust. Very handy. How can gc.com do this?

thanx, and clear skies for tomorrows Transit of Venus.

AFAIK it can't be done, unless you're a premium member. To download all the caches in SA, you'd need to:

- Search for all caches in Australia from the front page

- Narrow your search to South Australia on the next page

- Click 'Select All' at the bottom of each of the resulting 20 pages of search results, creating 20 different .loc files

- Upload the files to your GPS and then download them to a single file; or append them one by one to your map app of choice, then save them all as a single waypoints file

I don't know of any apps that'll merge .loc files, Maybe GSAK does it, but I've never used it.

EasyGPS and Expert GPS do and I am sure GSAK does it as well. I was bored one day and D/Led the whole WA list and now have them as one file on me puter and GPSr.

RobLisa site hasn't been updated since the 24/08/2004

Is this site no longer maintained or are the owners just taking a break :?: :?

This might reveal why - http://www.brillig.com/geocaching/status.html

Buxley's Geocaching Waypoint website is suffering as well.
