Has anyone worked out if possible to upload a POI file to iPhone TT as per their stand-alone units ?

I logged a support case earlier this year (see below), and the official line was "No"...
However it is possible on Jailbroken iPhones, and this remains one of the last few reasons why I still choose to Jailbreak.

Hopefully in the future they will implement either an online download functionality or enable "File Transfer" via iTunes, which a number of other Apps are using these days.

If you do go down the Jailbreak route, you can copy .ov2 files to:
/private/var/mobile/Applications/<unique-identifier>/Australia.app/AustraliaMap
where <unique-identifier> is something like EA218006-605D-496D-A010-852358BA5A8D and will change with each new version.

Cheers,
Ben.

Dear Ben,

Thank you for contacting TomTom Customer Support

No, the installation of any third party or home products on a iPhone is not compatible.

With Best Regards

Hi,

I recently purchased the TomTom Australia App for my iPhone. In the past, I have been able to copy an .ov2 file to my GO720 which would add a set of custom POIs to the TomTom (I use my TomTom for navigating to Geocaches).

Is it possible to add an .ov2 file to the TomTom iPhone app, or to upload custom POIs in any way?

Thanks,
Ben.

Thanks Ben, I suspected as much. As much as I like the iPhone and iPad, their interconnectivity short-comings is a pain
