What sort of speeds are you getting of my server just out of interest?
Whats your download manager of choice? Both of the penguin and the bill($) variety.

Are those multi download things "server hogs" that don't give others a go?

I havn't had to resume for a good few hours now :) At least resume is better than start all over again.

Whats your md5 checker of choice? Am looking for something to run under win9X. Last one I downloaded had a virus in it  . Also interested in a penguin variety.

I'm ploding on at 4.5kb/s

I got 450KB/s from the aloysius' site, no problem, so now you could also try getting it from here<br />
My downloader of choice: wget.

Wget is great...it resumes nicely. If you are after a graphical doover then i use D4x or more often nowdays KGET. D4X does nice throttling and has a few features that arent in kget...only reason i chose kget is i love KDE...and like to use native proggys.

I dont use windows at all anymore. when i did i think i used getright...or flashget...but its getting that long ago now i couldnt tell you for sure if they are good...or even in existance anymore.

as for md5sum...i use md5sum....works on all platforms.

Friday 0.13 GB
Thursday 0.08 GB
Wednesday 0.09 GB

Looks like something I put on between saturday and now is popular...wonder what!

Still well within safe limits though.

If anyone else has free from copyright mapping/ mapping software they would like to share scream out.

just because I'm not really sure what these are, I'm going to ask some basic questions.
Are these maps design for PC use or to be loaded into GPS?
ie If I don't have a GPS with Mapping s/w can I make use of this data?

If you have a copy of Garmin Mapsource then yeah you can use these on pc with no probs at all. THey are probably your best free (legal) mapping solution.

They can also be loaded to your garmin mapping GPS.

I can't be 100% sure but I would think that they can be used in nRoute on a laptop. Should give you real time moving mapping like with Metro and CN but for free. Would anyone like to try it out and let use know.

Only kinda.

Won't direct you down the roads, but will give you a straight line direction only.

I know it wont give you direction, the same as Metro. I more in seeing if it can do real time moving mapping a bit like Ozi does. I would try it out myself but I don't have a laptop.

Well they finaly got here and the md5 sum checks ok. It was all on one dialup too :)

Thanks for the mirror aloysius :) :D .

Not sure why I had to resume so many times. Had never had to with geotalk etc. If traffic graphs are of any interest I have them. :?
