CacheMonkey 2.0 BETA Released

Post by CacheMonkey » 18 June 03 2:32 pm

Check the website <br>
http://geomonkeys.com/main/CacheMonkey/cachemonkey.html
<br>
This is very BETA, its basically the first build that works for New South Wales Caches. Let me know about anything else that does or doesnt work.
<p>
p.s. Does anyone mind me linking the website to this forum for support for CacheMonkey? If so does anyone have a suggestion of where CM support could be offered?
<p>
Enjoy.
<p>
GeoMonkey Brad.

Yahoo Groups

I've already set up a Yahoo Group for a friend of mine who programs Palm software, plus for another guy who programs a Palm version of Civilization.. 5 mins to add another.

I tried running CacheMonkey 2.0 Beta tonight and it won't run. I get a message in the java console status line that reads "no protocol: ../my/"
<P>Is anyone else having this problem?
<P>P.S. Good luck with the arrival of the baby Brad & Narelle !

I had a LOT of trouble with this error when trying to get CM to work again. It was related to the user not logging in correctly. Or accessing the wrong start page.
I think you might need to go into the options and choose another state, then choose New South Wales again. See if that helps.
Otherwise check your login detials and things. Another thing you could try is a fresh install of CM and restup all the properties from scrtach just to see if that works, rather than keeping your old properties file.
Ive just checked it again on my machine and it works for me, so im guessing its a setting.

I just tried it. Looks good<br>

The start page url extension has changed from .asp to .aspx so for people who want to keep their old property file, you can open the property file in a text editor like notepad etc. NOT WORD and add the x. It worked for me.

I must be doing something wrong... It goes through all the motions of downloading the cache info, counting them off by 20 as the bar moves across at the top, but when it says 'Done', the cache list is blank/empty.

In file/options under the list set up make sure you have ticks in whatever boxes you want, for the show in list

I did a fresh install of CacheMonkey just now. It seems to log on okay, at least no more "No Protocol" errors, but now I am emulating Macamobs error. It goes through the process of d/ling the caches but then shows a blank page with 0 Found: 0 Not Found: 0 Hidden: 0 Unavailable in the status line of the Java Window
<P> In the Dos Window it shows the following message:
<P>Uncaught Exception : last processed:0 null
<P>This message repeats itself every 20 caches (or when CM starts to d/l a new page)
<P>Aaaaaaarrrrrrgggggghhhhhhhh...

I am having the same issue as maccamob. Anyone else having this problem? BTW, this program ROCKS!!!! I maintain a Streets and Trips map file of all the caches in North America, and this program was a life saver when I found it.
