OT: Best Outback Maps/GPSr?

Post by Snuva » 07 February 05 5:12 pm

A friend of mine will be doing quite a bit of 4WDing in outback WA and has been asking me questions about the best onboard GPSr / basemap combo for doing this, whether or not Garmin or Magellan has better maps for the area, best GPSr to have fixed in a vehicle is, etc - and my brain only knows about handhelds for geocaching. Why would you want a GPS mounted in a car - it needs to be mounted on the dog! <P>Can anyone give some advise?
